I got the call today that we are closed until Sunday because more than half our staff is out with covid. Every single shift lead but one has tested positive or has been exposed this week. Our baristas are slowly dwindling down to none. The company informed my manager too that we would not be compensated for the lost ours due to closing. We were told that we could pick up shifts at other locations.. where they’re also understaffed sue to covid. My manager is doing everything in her power to ensure we are taken care of. But damn.. corporate doesn’t care. I took a week off at the end of 2021 and now get another week.. I can’t afford to not work.

Considering corporate just decided to stop paying for 10 day isolation and customers are not required to wear masks or be vaccinated in our stores I don’t think they give any fuck whatsoever about our health or safety, they barely seem to care the stores have to close. They don’t care how hard it is on the skeleton staff. If your store is open, they want you to shut the fuck up and deal with it no matter how unmanageable it is.

So isolation pay ended and we have to use our sick hours?

No, the isolation pay is now 5 days not 10.

I just heard that all baristas are required to have the jab by mid January or something? Isn’t everyone talking about this????

yeah, i read the weekly update. this however doesn't solve the issue currently at hand. stores are losing partners vaxxed and unvaxxed left and right and are not getting the support they need.

I totally get that yet we should all agree that this is nothing new. My store has had several abrupt closings due to staffing. The staffing issues due to Covid make it extremely stressful for all of us, not to mention the daily verbal abuse by customers who are upset by slow service and menu shortages! It has gotten so bad that some partners are crying wolf on exposure just to get a break (if they can afford it)! I live in a red state and only half of our current partners are vaxxed and seriously considering quitting. We will see what happens.

same here! we’ve been the only store opened the past few weeks and we’ve been getting borrowed partners, but it’s hard since our store has been closing early and our cafe is closed, so we’re only doing drive through only. mobiles have been turned off completely as well. it sucks because morning crew gets most of their hours, but closing are losing hours because of the hours being cut. everyone’s super worried

We've ben DTO and MOP only since November due to staffing issues. Word is that we are opening up our Cafe soon. Just in time for Covid to peak. 🙄.

Most of our customers are decent but im not looking forward to welcoming them back into our store especially since a good number of them dont wear masks and Omicron is spiking. I would hope those who arent wearing masks are vaccinated but there isn't anyway for us to know for certain who is vaxxed. A friend who works for Walmart said have of her coworkers are out with Covid.
