All shaken espresso drinks get half pumps of the syrups that automatically come in them. So for the regular shaken espresso that’s half pumps of classic and for the Brown sugar shaken espresso it half pumps of brown sugar. Meaning grande gets 4 half pumps or 2 full pumps. This is the same for cold brew drinks. If the syrup automatically comes in the drink you do half pumps. VSCCB and SCCFCB would get half pumps of vanilla. Irish cream gets half pumps of Irish cream syrup. Now here’s where it gets tricky. Any other syrups that are added into these drinks are going to use full dose pumps. This goes for cold brews and shaken espresso beverages. And if someone orders a grande latte add brown sugar you would do 4 full pumps or 8 half pumps. Pretty much the only time that brown sugar is used in the half dose is when it goes in the shaken espresso. And your question is not dumb. The half does pumps are very stupid and confusing.

I believe if you are using the syrup for the drink it’s specifically supposed to go with, then yes it gets half pumps but full otherwise. Like for me, I like a grande cold brew with brown sugar syrup and vanilla foam, so I’ll do a full 8 half pumps or 4 full pumps (but that’s also personal preference?)
