I got a job at a state university and went to part time at Starbucks, so I swapped my Starbucks insurance for the flagship university's renowned health care and benefits. The health care costs and coverage are run a bit differently, but is essentially the same. My per paycheck costs are virtually identical, and the percentages of coverage for different things are nearly identical (I had silver level coverage at Starbucks). Except Starbucks has better vision coverage than the university, so I kept that. I got to keep it because at least for now, I only needed about 17 hours per week to keep my benefits. Normally that number is 20 hours. That's basically unheard of.
It's good.

This is very difficult to answer, as it depends on your needs. Starbucks does have a great selection of options though (typically 5 plan levels, and several insurance companies to choose from).
