Better or Worse? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by ryanxsaur
So I was a partner for 10 years. I left two years ago because of a terrible external toxic manager. My friend is still a SS. He said Starbucks has become worse in terms of working there. Is this true?

Covid just took a slowly deteriorating Starbucks and drastically accelerated the decay.

I’m a long time partner too, there are a few areas where it’s dicey but overall it’s not that different imo. The business model has always been the same, the issues come from who your sm is (I have a great one and we rarely have turnover) the dm, and how controlling they are of the sm. And mobile orders. Since there’s no way to throttle them, it’s very easy to be overwhelmed by them.

The company morale is very low because we feel like baristas and ssv don’t feel heard by our concerns about pay, safety with covid, and other issues with the labor model. Again that’s been an issue for a long time
