Is there anywhere I can go look up drink recipes? I would love to be able to see exactly what is in each drink and the topping it gets. I'm struggling to remember what get's whip and what doesn't.
the_lady_flame61 points1y ago
i like using the app for this! it's got all the numbers of shots, numbers of pumps, toppings, etc. really helpful!
dzrodgers [OP]34 points1y ago
The app? You mean pulling up a drink, like you were going to order it and then look at the details? This is all new to me and a bit overwhelming!
the_lady_flame14 points1y ago
yes, exactly like that! :)
dzrodgers [OP]10 points1y ago
Thanks, that's a great idea!
uwumoment1 points1y ago
this helped me learn bar since no one trained me <3
littleketone1 points1y ago
I do the same exact thing!!
How-Inconvenient-10 points1y ago
But this doesn’t help with prep order or technique though. There is no comprehensive way to learn about how we should properly make the drinks other than the Barista Basics modules.. that’s dumb to me
littleketone3 points1y ago
I mean, I guess you have a point, but it’s not like it’s all too different from how similar drinks are possibly constructed. OP could follow those processes, yknow? No hate, just saying almost all drinks in each category are constructed similarly.
Edit: to add last sentence.
How-Inconvenient4 points1y ago
I’m just mad we can’t open the modules from home

this website was super helpful to me when I first started: https://sbuxdates.com
it has all the drink components/recipes for certain drinks, how long things are good for, etc. super helpful resource to have on your phone so you can quickly glance at it, I show it to all the new baristas at my store :)
dzrodgers [OP]9 points1y ago
OMG!!! That is the most amazing 4 pages of info!!!! And exactly what I was looking for.... A HUGE "Thank You"!!!!
:-)
briannuzzi1 points1y ago
no problem!! so glad I was able to help! :)
philosopher_cat_lady6 points1y ago
This is actually a really well-written document, even though it's not official.
briannuzzi3 points1y ago
it is! actually I think it was created by users from r/Starbucks and also the Starbucks discord. i have no idea why we don’t have any official documents like this to be used in training, considering everything we have to learn and remember.
sneakpeekbot1 points1y ago
Here's a sneak peek of /r/starbucks using the $1 of the year!
omg where was that website when I started a few months ago???
dzrodgers [OP]1 points1y ago
Thank You! I'll go have a look!
shiftyclub17 points1y ago
They’re accessible on the ipad in store resources I believe
dzrodgers [OP]2 points1y ago
That's what I've been told, but can't find them. Was wondering if they were on this website?
mxs42357 points1y ago
They are in store resources and then you go to the magnifying glass, type the drink you’re looking for and it should come up. Otherwise, you can probably find them on the Partner Hub.
shiftyclub2 points1y ago
Hmm interesting… I’m not sure if there’s like a central spot for all of them but I know you can look up drinks individually in store resources to find them. They’re also grouped by category so if you look up just cold brew, all the types of cold brew will come up
Sirmarchboy227 points1y ago
It shows on the reg too, on the side bar. It's written in shorthand but it's not too hard to learn
olivinemultichrome3 points1y ago
As a bonus if the sticker printers ever go down or you work at a non-sticker or licensed store you’ll know how to mark cups
mushr00m_fairy4 points1y ago
hello! this is the website that i used when i first started. it helped me a lot and i hope it helps you to :) $1
dzrodgers [OP]1 points1y ago
OMG!!! That is an amazing "cheat sheet"!!!!! Thank you for sharing it with me!!!
RegularAsk1434 points1y ago
We used to have card decks that sat up by the registers for exactly this - an exact physical recipe of every single drink...is this not a thing anymore??? Lol. My partner nummernwas135\*\*\*\* if that's indication of how long ago I was an SM :)
Big_Iron995 points1y ago
320 partner, we have physical recipes at my store
dzrodgers [OP]3 points1y ago
I've "heard" about these cards but they are no where to be found in my store....
dthomp08062 points1y ago
We don't have the cards anymore at my store, but all of the drinks are on the ipad now. You can grab it and look up anything, takes one minute.
paigemclachlan3 points1y ago
I don’t know about your store but mine has physical recipe cards we usually keep by the front reg for the green beans or in case we just need a reminder
champshere3 points1y ago
Also, If you ring it up on the reg it will show you what goes in/on it
coffeegirrrl1 points1y ago
Mostly true, but hot water is never listed as an ingredient which is why the whole 'chai latte doesn't come with water' fallacy comes up every so often. Hot chai lattes DO come with hot water btw...as does an americano and a got tea, but you won't see it listed as an ingredient.
sydbey_1 points1y ago
also at work if it’s slow and you’ve got time you can just ring up drinks - the POS tells you pumps and everything like that included.. also the iPad is a great store resource, plus the beverage recipe cards that every store should have for training (and new drinks).
Ok-Cucumber89321 points1y ago
In the store resources app they have the recipe cards as well
Karona241 points1y ago
My trainer said anything that sounds like a dessert gets whip
vertigo00o1 points1y ago
The registers should have the recipes too
Gameb0i61 points1y ago
All the recipes are in the iPad. Idk why they even send the cards anymore. It’s just a waste of materials
Dzfranken1 points1y ago
On an ipad
Hazel_is_Trans1 points1y ago
The tables has them you can take a picture of the table screen
Aliciarox111891 points1y ago
There is a search option on the iPad just use that
coffeegirrrl1 points1y ago
Store resources on the iPad. It's the one that looks like a manilla file 📁
spboi81 points1y ago
The iPad has a store resource app
Qveenkovah1 points1y ago
If you go on one of your stores iPad and go to store resources app (it’s a little file folder icon) you can find all the recipe cards virtually with everything you need to know about both core recipes and holiday and seasonal recipes Your store should also have printed recipe cards but if not the iPad is always your best bet
Nogood11111 points1y ago
Your store should have recipe cards stored in a cabinet or near the POS. Otherwise you can ring up a drink and check the tabs on the side of the screen, they say everything the drink has.
Responsible-Will60401 points1y ago
Store resources on all the iPads has all the core bev recipes
Several-Government821 points1y ago
If your store has extra tablets just bring one over to your bar, open the store resources and it has all the recipe cards digitally on there
Helyra1 points1y ago
Store resources on the iPad is useful for exactly this. You'd have to make sure it's updated to get all the drinks but usually you can search a drink and the recipe card will pop up. Along with Shelf Life of everything even the new launch toppings/sauces.
rennitz1 points1y ago
I use theiPad. I forget exactly which app it is, partner resources or store resources, something like that, but it has recipes for every drink. Other than that, someone said the public app and that's a great idea.
GarbageValuable18881 points1y ago
If you ring it up on reg it’ll say it in the bottom right
