Starbucks should give a daily CS bonus (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by rnaggie53
Oh my gosh guys. I just had a great idea. Starbucks corporate should start offering like a $10 or $15 incentive every day for the person who does CS. Honestly I think it’s unfair that one person ends up doing all of the hard work almost every day.
I think that the person who is on CSshould be compensated for their hard work and time. This would probably encourage barista‘s to do a better job while they’re tasking, & it would probably make people want to work faster.

I’m sure it would cause some issues realistically but it’s a nice idea. At my store there’s only a few people who end up always doing CS because it’s hard to get it done quick. I just think those people deserve extra pay. Crazy huh?

Edit: hey guys after reading the replies I feel like my store may operate a little differently. At my store, cs includes all the tasking as well as helping out & following the routine. So they have to restock, floors, take trash out, prep, & help us. It ends up being only like the shifts or someone who can manage to get it all done in time.

cs’ing isn’t difficult… it’s more so an easy task that isn’t stressful, in my opinion, like making drinks or taking orders. Plus you get to help out your teammates!

CSing for me feels like a break! Like "lol you guys have to run around getting yelled at, and all I gotta do is haul some stuff and clean some stuff!"

cs is not difficult when you do it correctly. and if you follow the 30 minute routine you wont feel overwhelmed w preps and tasks.

CS at my store includes doing the front register and ovens…. So, yeah, getting a bonus for doing it would be AMAZING

Cs is not hard. People just don’t like it

I feel you, I hate CS bc my store is super busy so it’s never not stressful.. Trashes, dishes, kegs, milk, ice, restocks, clean, prep, bathroom, repeat.

I feel like people who like CS don't CS properly.......

There’s also a big difference between CS where you need to flex to help positions and CS where you can just CS. Or CS where there hasn’t been a CS for three hours and you have two hours until there’s enough people on to have a pure CS again.

ehhhh idk it seems kind of unfair to everyone else….DTO is hard too, especially when you don’t have someone at warming or you don’t have someone at DTR and you have to double-drive. or when you’re on bar, making drive-thru and cafe drinks or doing espresso bar and cold bar. POS is hard too when again there isn’t anyone at warming. CS isn’t overwhelming if you do it right, but unfortunately (at my store, anyway) people are rarely trained on the proper way to do the CS cycle. we’re currently in the process of training everyone on it to really start implementing it to make things easier. nowadays with covid, we have many partners in isolation or calling in sick so it’s rare we even have enough staff to have a CS all day anyway. I think giving a bonus incentive to only one of the positions wouldn’t go over well. I just think we all need to be paid more in general lmao

It wouldn’t hurt. It’s not fair to always have the same small pool of partners doing CS just because they are good at it. It would incentives others to do a better job, even if it’s just an extra break.

Personally I hate cs but I still don't think this ones great. Most baristas light it up, get high off there ass and can still do cs better then me.

I don’t hate cs. I actually enjoy cleaning and organizing and making sure everything is stocked to the top. But it’s definitely more physically tasking then other positions. Lots of walking back and forth heavy kegs and heavy trash bags etc. and idk about other stores but the cs position is expected to flex to ovens front and handoff so it can get overwhelming during a spicy peak.

i mean cs is hard and all when you’re new to it, i guess it depends on the store but my store is the busiest in the state and it’s not difficult to do cs.
