She can do the gift card thing herself n she needs to Fck off
philosopher_cat_lady6 points1y ago
My response to her "your manager did it for me once" would be, "Which one? I've had eight so far."
Necessary_Low9392 points1y ago
lolol. They won’t pull this shit in my state. Honestly u guys needa start saying no
philosopher_cat_lady1 points1y ago
I remember when I started saying no. It's surprisingly effective. The customer isn't expecting you to say it and doesn't know what to do.
Necessary_Low9392 points1y ago
Yaaaaasssssss u guys needa start stop giving what customers want. But ur sm also needs to reinforce it if not, customers won’t change.

LITERALLY
philosopher_cat_lady3 points1y ago
But then she can't do a power play on a person earning less than a living wage!
kidcharliemagne15 points1y ago
hi yes we reload starbucks cards, theyre starbucks cards…its our job to do stuff with starbucks cards…what do u mean “not supposed to do that”
Gorbon1111 points1y ago
She wanted to reload a Starbucks card with a Starbucks card. I will always happily do this for customers as it really is no different than using any other form of payment.
xaggretsukox [OP]2 points1y ago
I was told that was against policy. I believe it has something to do with fraud? I don't recall but I was always told not to do that.
SelloutDude9 points1y ago
The problem is, these customers can claim whatever they want happened and it doesn’t matter what actually happened. The moment the interaction starts to go off the rails it’s better to stop engaging and immediately start repeating yourself that this person needs to stop yelling at you and then refuse to serve them. Do it in the headset so everyone else knows what’s going on and the escalate it to MOD. You can only talk your way into more issues for yourself.
xaggretsukox [OP]9 points1y ago
I mean, there was nothing I could've said to make her feel any better. She was already in this mindset from the jump that I was rude when all I asked her was to repeat herself. And honestly, I only work here 2 days a week and I have another job so if she complains and tries to make it a bigger deal I don't really care for the consequences. I know I give good customer service and I dont have to take customers attitudes.
SelloutDude3 points1y ago
I agree. There is nothing that you can do to fix it, and customers keep doing this behavior because they’re allowed to get away with it. “Rude behavior” is subjective, but there are some indicators that clearly cross the line and it sounds like this customer engaged in some of them. If a person crosses those lines, and it’s witnessed by other customers, they’re learning what they can get away with. Shut that shit down publicly. It creates less problems in the future.

🤦🏾♀️

... What? We can absolutely transfer balances between gift cards. It lets you do it in the app, why couldn't we do it in store?
They can't pay for gift cards with disposable credit card gift cards. That's where the problem is. But if someone gets a $25 gift card for Christmas and wants to load it on their main card for the points I'll actually offer to do it. Yeah it's a little annoying in DT but it's no reason to start a fight.
???
xaggretsukox [OP]1 points1y ago
I wasn't trying to start a fight with her. She clearly instigated this argument before I even mentioned that to her. This is a Starbucks policy, I dont remember the reason why, but I was always told not to do that.
Interesting-Wrap91182 points1y ago
Refill a gift card with a gift card??? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
wheres_jaykwellin_at2 points1y ago
Good lord, people are insane.
philosopher_cat_lady2 points1y ago
Any customer who asks what your name is or calls you rude is always the one being rude
Dzfranken1 points1y ago
Sorry for your trouble. But you can definitely reload a gift card with a gift card
luvduvbunny1 points1y ago
Please tell me you didn’t do the gift card thing? I HATE it when they say “BuT i dO iT aLL the TiME sINce tHE ManAgER ALLowS IT”. If you’ve never seen the person before, chances are they’ve never been to that store and the “manager” hasn’t done shit for them in the past (plus they often don’t know the manager’s name).
