Grande Rant - Covid (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Perfect-Leadership58
My brother and his girlfriend just tested positive for covid, and the soonest i can get tested is Saturday. i’ve already called out for today as soon as i found out. So anyways after making my appointment for a whole week from now i text my SM, he tells me to call the store so they can fill out a covid coach for me, so i do, and the shift that’s there right now is one i suspect doesn’t like me (for no reason i can think of). So i tell her what my SM said and she said “well did you make an appointment” and i tell her yes just to hear “well SM might want you to get tested sooner” as if that’s even within my power. She ends up hanging up because doing the covid coach for me “doesn’t make sense”. then she calls back less than a minute later to tell me exactly what the SM said, and does the covid coach for me. Long story short, despite having symptoms and not being able to get tested for a whole week, i still have to go back to work on Monday :^) even though all the stores around us are closing early, shutting off mobiles, or just closed in general due to covid.

Edit: the SM called and said i’ll be out for 10 days, which is the day my test is scheduled :’)

That’s ridiculous, you shouldn’t be working if you’ve been exposed and are waiting to get tested WHILE SHOWING SYMPTOMS!

Regardless of what they’ve said, I wish you well in feeling better and hope you feel better soon! Sending positive vibes for you as well as your brother and his girlfriend!

i’m just a lil upset bc my SM is like the ONLY manager i’ve ever had who doesn’t push you to come in when you call out it’s just “hey i’m not feeling well and won’t come in today” and his response is always just “okay! feel better” but the shift there is so rude to me and idk why
