more transparency than you probably want but here’s what i have to offer! at my last coffee shop (i left starbucks for a year) i was getting paid 12/hr and had good enough (online, so keep in mind they were taxed) tips that would bump my “hourly pay” to roughly 21-25/hr. now that i’m back at starbucks, and get paid more than i did with higher tip rate than my last store, i get roughly 18-19/hr. my biweekly paychecks there were about double based on the hours and rates offered. i’m somehow the highest paid supervisor at my current store and this is what i get biweekly. it sucks. i’ve taken a HUGE pay cut for the sake of insurance/benefits which i need. most starbucks locations estimate the average partner makes about $1/hour in tips. they are distributed weekly on tuesdays. everyone’s hours for the week are divided with the amount of tips pooled for that week and divided by the amount of hours worked that week individually. it’s not much, honestly.

Im in the same boat. I worked as a beertender at a brewery and was at 13/hr plus tips which came out to 28/hr before taxes, but we didn't have a tip pool ( I didn't claim cash). I moved to a VERY high volume sbux in the suburbs and now I make 16.50/hr as a supervisor and our tips are around .80/hr extra for all partners. I moved to sbux for benefits as well. I wouldn't rely on tips. I use mine to get cat food every month. Haha

same, i use mine for two bags of cat litter that give me a $5 target gift card and then use the remainder as my weekly takeout treat lmao. starbucks is definitely not reliable in the tip department.

Im in Southern California and I usually make shit in tips tbh. On an average 25-30 hour week I make anywhere from 8-15 dollars a week. Christmas week I got around 28 dollars, but that was rare

I was not aware that Starbucks didn't accept credit card tips when I started. So I thought I could at least make up the pay difference from my last job and this one in tips. Nope.
