I had a customer come through the drive thru yesterday, and they order a "Rainbow Drink". So as always, we ask if they have the recipe because that obviously isn't/hasn't been a menu drink, and they proceed with this: "Uh yeah one second, its the Red Drink, Orange Drink, Yellow Drink..." through the ENTIRE rainbow, then we explained that the only 'colors' we have is the pink/dragon/kiwi and she was so confused. Also if we did have all these colors it would just come out brown?? Ain't no barista pouring bartender style those colors are not going to be separated. In conclusion, has the "Rainbow Drink/Refresher" been requested across the nation? because these off-menu internet recipe requests are getting unhinged.

I think it's something going around Tik Tok. I guess customers have been ordering a few different drinks and then layering them on top of drinks like different colors of poweraid and Gatorade. Then they call it a "Rainbow Drink" and promptly forget to mention that half the drink isn't from Starbucks.

I have seen those TikToks and I understand people not knowing we don't carry many of the products they use, so I try to help out and inform them on what we do have and suggest something similar. It usually ends up with a happy customer but the ones who just insist even after being told we cant make their request make me soooo angry. Like they think we are hiding "secret menu" items in the back? These people do keep me entertained when its slow though lollll

Not a rainbow drink but had a lady the other day grumble at me bc “they’re not supposed to mix it, it’s supposed to look ombré when it comes out” had like vanilla bean powder on top of it. I sorta just looked at her like 👁👄👁 whole thing was stupid

Our manager at the B&N cafe I used to work at made a "rainbow drink" occasionally that was the vanilla bean frappuccino with a fuck ton of food coloring. So, it could be something similar to that.
