Address Lack of Training Issues (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Amazing_Self2929
I transferred from a different store where I had two shifts of training with a trainer who would only come in to train new people once a month. I have previous coffee shop experience making hand pressed espresso and holding the pitcher the entire time it was steaming to ensure quality. I've also worked at Barnes and Noble, and owned an espresso machine I would use daily with a milk steamer. I have worked at SB for almost eight months and have 13 years of customer service experience. Now an I've worked all positions except bar. My new availability limits my shifts to before 3pm so most all of my shift is during peak hours.

I have asked repeatedly for more bar time, additional training, and to be placed in roles other than restocking/CS. I'm like 85% trained but I'm not allotted more than 30 minutes of bar time per shift so I can't improve.

What should I do?

When did you start working at the siren? In general I wasn't allowed to touch bar until 4 or so months in

I've been with SB for nine months and with prior experience in coffee shops.

Really? I just started recently and they’ve only had me on bar so far. I guess it varies from store to store?

It can but often they don't let you on bar until 3 or 4 months in at least
