one time a customer shaved in the bathroom and left his hair all over the place, plus some other… fluids, so we had to shut down one of our bathrooms for the rest of the day, and only had one bathroom left for everyone to use. mind you we’re a pretty busy store and customers who use the bathroom love spending their time there :/ not very fun for the baristas who need to use the bathroom quickly in the middle of a shift

We had one shit on the floor, smeer it on the wall, then stuff the toilet full of paper towels and seat covers until it was basically just paper, it was our only operational bathroom, and our SSV was pregnant.

People are insane

we call the cleanup team as far as i know but the manager refuses to confront customers, so we can’t really stop him

After years of foodservice, including recently at Starbucks, I moved to retail, and oooh boy is it nice. I work in a mall and each store has a restroom in the backroom. For loss prevention purposes, we cannot let customers into the backroom at all, under any circumstances. That means every store has a private bathroom just for the employees. It's amazing. No more waiting on customers, no more insane messes. It stays clean. Absolutely love telling customers they'll have to go all the way to the food court if they want to use a restroom.

I would be so sad if we couldn't sit at that desk! Our sm doesn't even use it, she brings her laptop out and sits in the cafe to work haha

It's honestly inhumane. I've had to run to other businesses and beg to use theirs, getting turned down pretty frequently, and that was BEFORE COVID. Nowadays... I don't drink water before work or until I'm almost off, and I'm sure that's not a problem :)

I feel this so hard. We have to clean our bathrooms THREE TIMES A DAY. We are super close to a big industrial area, and truckers come in and absolutely destroy our bathrooms. Like.. things you don’t want to see. Trust me. and we aren’t even that busy!! I’ve waited like 10-15 minutes just to use the bathroom because two grown men go in and take their sweet time. 🤢

What y'all don't have an employee bathroom? Don't they build most Starbucks from scratch and don't include an extra toilet.

Damn where i work we even have a separate shower
