Stock - do you lose it when you quit? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Magnhild94
I accepted my stock grants on fidelity but I also quit so when I'm officially terminated will that go away?

Starbucks used to do options instead of grants (so so much better) and if you hadn't used your options, they disappeared when you left. Fully vested stocks are just stocks you own and they can't take those back. I assume the grant you accepted though was from this past year and that hasn't vested yet so it will disappear. The grants take two years to vest and then just become stocks you own in your portfolio. They only vest though if you are with the company for the two year vesting period.

Yes you lose it when you quit. You have to sell it before you quit to get your money otherwise it’s forfeit.

I don’t think this is exactly correct. Your unvested bean stocks will definitely be removed, but your vested bean stocks should remain yours after you quit. Any stock purchased via Starbucks ESPP are immediately yours upon purchase.

Edit: If you are concerned, read the Bean Stock document in your Fidelity account or call partner resources.
