Are you vaccinated? That would determine if you should have been “isolated” after working beside the partner.

Yes I am however I was told the only reason the reason I wasn't contacted or told to even test without being isolated is because it was 3 days since working with that partner not 2 or less according to my store manager vaccination doesnt mean they wont tell you they would tell you and as long as you have no symptoms you still show to work and get tested 5 days after exposure im more worried abt the fact I wont be able to pay bills on 20 hours a week worth of pay if im positive I will lose 2 weeks at one job and 5 days at starbucks and I will literally be homeless after that lol partners need to not risk their coworkers getting sick because they dont wanna wear a mask imo and ill be having to make bill payments on credit cards in hopes I will work enough once im back

I was in the same boat about a month ago, my shift manager of my store made sure to submit for me to get pay for quarantining as I am fully vaccinated and reported, unfortunately osha doesn’t offer anonymously reporting they do follow ups with you and investigations if the follow up questions prove concerning as far as I know.

the thing is as far as ive been told after telling my manager this morning when I woke up he literally said "oh no you sound like shit are you okay do you have covid" then explained if I did get covid pay it would only be 20 hours for 5 days total in reality I work close to 40 most weeks and 55 to 60 hours at my second job... hard to not be absolutely livid with partners not doing the most to keep everyone safe when its costing me likely whole weeks worth of pay from one job and im only getting paid for 20 hours and given 5 days to feel better at sbux... I understand its not their fault as our manager has leaned on people to get them to come back after 5 days and to not take longer but still.... thinking about going down to the Chicago loop store and talking to employees about unionization and how the process started because it doenst feel safe anymore I want to wear a N95 mask to work when I return I feel like a bus hit me :(

Unfortunately they’re following the cdc guidelines re: 5 days, and having vaccine disclosure means you weren’t guaranteed isolation after the exposure...It massively sucks...we had basically all of mid shift out for a few days because of similar stuff and as a (recently, anyway) mid shift person, I’m really uneasy too. Like, I’m vaxxed & boosted but I don’t know.

im also fully vaccinated which makes possibly having it more upsetting as well

the issue is if i got covid it was because starbucks doesn’t enforce the covid mask policy at my store … I’m immune comprised and the second job i work has no contact with customers physically anymore and i am the only one working in store shipping things out for online orders and the store is sanitized daily by me… i don’t hang out with friends because i can’t risk it if they are sick or even just a little bit sick just sucks the unions starting to look like a good option to me at this point im insanely tired not feeling well and will be out of work for longer than 5 days with less pay than i normally would receive (2nd job is 2 weeks unpaid quarantine regardless of vaccination status per their policies) anyways hoping for the best at this point thanks for the information:)

so if starbucks tells you to isolate, you should get paid for that time. you have 2 paid isolation periods per quarter, i believe
Mission-Accident-917 1 points 1y ago
yes im “isolating” rn as they haven’t scheduled me monday-thursday and i get my covid test back thursday morning at the latest if i am positive ill start quarantine at date if my positive test but two at homes have told me i am negative and im awaiting results of a rapid i took this morning at a testing site i pray im not because unlike some partners im 20 and completely moved out alone paying for everything on my own i can’t fall back on family or my couple thousand in savings as i don’t have that … just sucks doesn’t feel fair or safe to work in similar concerns have had stores unionize and it’s starting to seem needed just to be safe at work

Your state’s osha website will have a way for you to report

Oh same. At my store, the last 3 weeks have been an absolute mess with people constantly calling out to the point where we had to shorten our hours for a bit. There’s not a doubt that literally every partner at our store was in contact with at least one person who tested positive, but none of my coworkers have gotten a call or message like we did in previous months. Very cool 👍 /s

cdc says even a fully vaccinated person who came into contact needs to get tested 5 days after contact but doesnt qualify for quarantine unless experiencing symptoms or testing positive.... they arent even following cdc guidelines

Sorry that is a long sentence.

Since you’re vaccinated you don’t need to be told. You only isolate if you have symptoms. The Covid coach is available on ever iPad.

Any hours you miss while isolating those ten days are paid for by Catastrophic Pay. You get 2 paid isolations every quarter.

If partners aren’t wearing a mask on the floor it’s against the policy. If you do have covid unless you were passing secretions it might just be a coincidence that another partner has it too, especially if you have another job.

I had covid in November and I worked with every single partner within those two days, but because my
Team is 100 percent vaccinated no one isolated, and no one got it.

my other job is strictly me opening and closing on 8 hour shifts alone as well as every other employee the store is sanitized prior to closing by an employee its a family business we dont have any workers interacting with each other due to the fact we have 8 employees and the company doesnt want a single one of us to get covid and have been extremely serious since the beginning of the pandemic I dont go out places and I dont even hang out with people often as I have an autoimmune disorder I go to work and back home I even do school online... if I fo have covid I couldn't have gotten it anywhere else not informing me I was in contact with a covid positive partner is unacceptable cdc says if im fully vaccinated I dont have to quarantine but do have to test 5 days after contact... the more I think about it the more starbucks is starting to show how little they care about us

You only isolate for 5 days and only get paid for 5 days now.
