Hello r/starbucksbaristas! My current day job is a entry level corporate gig and seriously considering applying as a StarBucks barista to work evenings and weekends to help with some bills and because I think I'll like it. (self.starbucksbaristas)

My day job is entry level. I've always wanted to work as a barista during my university years (couple years ago). Would you guys recommend I modify my resume to highlight part time jobs worked as a student? Or should I just be transparent about my day job? I've worked at countless retail and fast food places, but never barista. I'm worried having a little more technical experience in my recent roles may hurt my chances. What do you guys think? TIA!

Doubt any starbucks wouldn’t hire any person who’s able to show up. Just know that it’s probably the worst, emotionally draining, back breaking job you’ll have rn.

Do it! I’d never worked retail prior to Starbucks, my main job is also technical (but I work remotely with flexible hours) and I got hired on the spot. Your manager will only be concerned with your availability.

We have someone at our store that is full time at a corporate place. They work morning shift 5-9 during the week and that seems to work well. As long as you’re available and willing to work you’ll get the job. Don’t think too much about it
