Can you wear gloves while working? And if so where does it say so in mypartnerinfo? Couldn’t find it in the dress code. Not talking about foodservice gloves like black textured ones to keep my hands warm. (self.starbucksbaristas)

Sometimes the window partners will because it’s C O L D but not while making beverages or touching food since they are unsanitary

When I worked on window, I used to fill a cup with hot water to hold between cars. I just wrote “NOT FOR DRINKING” on it just in case I would accidentally hand it out lol

I'll be doing this now thx

Wearing those plastic gloves can generate heat (how u get sweaty taking them off sometimes) and keep u warm. I don’t think knitted gloves are in the dress code and if u have to make drinks or warm food, it won’t be great to work with. If ure stationed in the drive through, ask ur sm, maybe u can work something out

on the starbucks coffeegear website there are a pair of gloves that are dress code appropriate

Can I wear my own? And can I wear them all the time? Our only while doing certain activities?

The ones on the coffee gear website are compatible with screens. It will probably be easier to uses those, and you can say they're definitely dress code approved.

Awesome, I showed my gloves in comparison to the coffee gear ones (mine have the touch screen thing too) to my ASM and they said all good to DTO/Window, and Front when front doesn’t interact with food. Still wash your hands a lot is what else they said

It may also be possible to wear them on bar as long as you wear the plastic food safety gloves OVER your own gloves. I have never tried to wear gloves on the floor nor have I looked into it or asked questions about it though so take my comment with a grain of salt 😅

I would ask to wear at Drivethrough but it’d be pretty gross if someone made my food or drink with used, personal gloves or shared gloves

It is possible you can wear the provided plastic gloves over your warm gloves and thus make them food safe.

I'd say an investment in some really good quality black nitrile or black vinyl gloves would be your best bet. I love the way they look. They may not be cheap but they help with hand warming weirdly enough if you put the regular clear ones over them when making drinks.

probably up to your sm. i’ve seen partners wear fingerless gloves and get away with it, plus i’m sure it’d be okay to do while on window since it’s so cold

Sometimes I buy the hot hands hand warmers and those help if I keep them in my pockets
verdeuce 1 points 1y ago
I believe the only stipulation is that you still need to wash your hands, etc
tinseltesseract 1 points 1y ago
I don’t know if we can but I literally won’t last 5 minutes on DTR or solo drive this time of year without them so I just do anyway. I’m very small and don’t retain body heat well at all so I’m cold 24/7. It’s a toss up between that and having to outright refuse those positions because I can’t feel my fingers.

we have a coworker with a broken arm, and hes not allowed to bar or do oven bcos of the cast. i feel like itd be the same thing since you cant wash it while youre there, and particles can get trapped under
