Don’t be nervous! If you’re a trainer, you know your stuff. You’ll be fine! And if something doesn’t go quite the way you want or they aren’t picking up something fast, just work with them and be flexible!
If you work on one of the bars, I would write out the shots to pumps ratio for each size drink (ex. Tall: 1 shot, 3 pumps and so on). This is a great way for the trainee to visualize and remember the measurements!
Relax! You’ll do great! Good luck!

It seems like a long time, but honestly it’s so needed. I had one trainee that took WAY longer than 3 hours. I’ve had some that pick it up in an hour. I honestly don’t worry about the time spent on each activity. I worry more about them learning the concept rather than in the time frame…them learning is more important than a standard time set my corporate🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m so glad you asked this question! I’m doing the same thing today and was totally freaking myself out! All of the feedback has been amazing.

i've trained a few people and the thing that kept my anxiety away was reminding myself that i'm in full control lol, something abt knowing everything we'd do was by my command made me feel a lot better. i think it's cause im so used to being watched, scored, coached etc. but training is a personal connection between you and the barista, its an opportunity for them to make their first friend at work, and based on my experience, they develop a soft spot for you and see you as more trustworthy than others in the future. (and i personally just feel rlly proud when a barista i trained turns to me with questions once they're on their feet
) but take some time everyday this week to get to know them well! esp if you have extra time, the chit chat is a huge part of their experience. another big part is, (if your store isn't too hectic at the time) introduce them to your coworkers!!! they're gonna be nervous about being like able, and creating that welcoming space for them will make them feel much more belonging, i felt so insecure when i was training at my first store and nobody even batted an eye at me or responded when i would talk to them. overall just try your best to make them feel welcomed and wanted, because the environment will always work against that motive and appear very intimidating. most of all training is much more bearable when you make it fun!

your'e gonna do great!! good luck :-)

I had to change my plans a lot today because we were doing cold drinks and for some reason literal everyone on the planet wanted fraps in this cold ass Thursday, but I didn’t freak and it worked out!! My green bean is great with fraps, and refreshers now! I had her make real customer drinks on top of the ones I chose and she was rocking it!
