Transfer/New Applications question (self.starbucksbaristas)

Hello! I’m a fairly new barista coming up on 3 months here and I’ve been looking to relocate for awhile. I was browsing jobs out of curiosity and saw places I was looking to move were hiring with higher positions then I’m in now and was wondering if as a current employee you’re able to apply to other Starbucks positions at different stores. Is the only way to move to discuss transfer with you SM first and then call the stores nearby or could you apply and then figure out logistics if you’re looking at jobs other than what you’re currently in?

i would talk to your manager because your manager will have to approve the transfer, but you can definitely apply online after that conversation. it might be easier to just contact other store managers directly after that but if you were going to move to a higher position (which i think since you’ve only been with the company for three months you technically can’t move up yet) you would need to apply even after talking to your manager.
