Store manager and shifts problem (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Deep-Device-3599
I've had enough. some time ago I wrote a post about how my store manager writes to me and even forces me to be available on weekends when I'm not in my city. I have been working at Starbucks since September in the same time frame every month, i.e. from Monday to Friday until noon around 2 p.m. that is my availability. yesterday, during the shift, she took me to her office for an interview and presented the matter clearly, i.e. either I will also take shifts on weekends (!!!) even though there are people who are available ONLY on weekends and want to work only on weekends (where my availability is 5 days a week) or she will have to hire two additional people, which equates to the fact that they will take away my shifts at work. This thing is sitting incredibly in my head and I am sorry, especially that every week there are situations when my store manager writes to me every other time, can I stay for a few more hours, can I come for someone extraordinary, can I come because it's very busy , I worked on Christmas Eve of my own free will, last week on a weekday holiday and I was supposed to be off. I'm terribly sorry because I'm good at working at Starbucks, but I don't want to be used any more than I am at the moment.

They will never stop using you until nothing is left. It’s a great time to learn personal boundaries, you’ll need them desperately in all parts of life.

Start looking for another job. Your manager has informed you with your availability she does not have hours to give you and what your options are. Open up weekends or have almost no hours.
