Okay so depending on the store:
The customers are truly the most entitled pos I have ever met. I worked in a fast pace sb with lots of business ppl, old ppl, and teens come. Most of them were nice but a lot of them were annoying to deal with, esp the old ppl!
Then you have ppl who get mad if you ask to repeat their order and name, get mad when you take too long to make fucking brew coffee and tea and get mad when they ordered a min ago and their drinks/food are not out yet out.
It’s fun to make the drinks but it gets really intense during peak hours when people are angry for waiting for their drinks.
At Home Depot, it’s probably better. No one is in a rush to buy whatever they need and you don’t smell like coffee all day or have terrible hair from wearing a gross cap and hairnet.

I don't work at sbux but at a similar corporate coffee shop. Being a barista is def lightweight in terms of physical labor. But it demands hella communication, multitasking, and listening skills. You're gonna have to have good memory and memorization of you wanna get trained fast. Cuz you'll be memorizing and making a variety of drinks, and you'll have to make those drinks within a specified amount of time. Unlike food service, there is no set formula each drink in the menu. Customers will be asking for weird modifications and you'll have to know the formula for mixing and matching those modifications depending on their request. Get it wrong or deliver it late and you might get an earful. You'll find yourself shifting between hot bar, cold bar, mobile orders and drive through. You'll have to learn how to read a drink and make it to perfection, in time for the next drink. It's an extremely fast-paced and meticulous job that will keep you on your toes. The only way to find out is if you test the waters yourself. Anyone can do it, but it all depends on your coworkers and the patience they have training you.

Your best bet is one without a drive thru that’s for sure

It most certainly depends store to store. I’ve heard some horror stories that I’ve never experienced at my store when it comes to management and coworkers. Though I will say you probably won’t be able to make 14$ an hour though I know my store has a tip pool that gets me closer more often than not.
To me the job came pretty easy, but it isn’t that way for everyone. So you’ve gotta test the waters yourself and see if you can do that kind of job. It can be very fast paced, and learning can also be frustrating.
Management and labor are some of the most common complaints people have about their employer, so be sure in your interview you are asking as many questions as your interviewer. Make sure it’s someone you’re willing to work for and more than likely take a pay cut for. Unless you get a position as a shift or something.
