Covid-19 Leave (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Month_Puzzleheaded
I have been in leave since Friday, that’s when I started symptoms and I called my manager. Since the new isolation process started last week we are supposed to be out 5 days instead of 10. Now I still have symptoms and haven’t find any place near to get tested, it seems everywhere is having issues with testing; however my manager keeps texting me asking me how I’m feeling and if I found a testing center. I know we are understaffed and they are counting with us slaves to be back on our feet to serve all those unsupervised adult-children but man it feels like I’m getting pressure into it. I still have body aches, cough and until yesterday still had fever. Just wish we were treated like actual humans.

Contact your DM and let them know cause that’s what I had to do so I could get my 10 days

Thanks I didn’t thought about that.

They are not allowed to ask you to get tested or if you have gotten tested, stand your ground let your manager know that you are still experiencing symptoms and will need an extended leave until your symptoms clear up. Also, (if my manager is correct) even if you get a negative Covid test you can not end your isolation early, and even if you do get a negative Covid test i would not return until symptoms are clear, I would only answer one text a day max if it’s stressing you out, just a simple “still experiencing symptoms will update you when I’m feeling better”

Negative COVID test because you had symptoms will clear you to come back early. Negative COVID test because you are unvaxxed and exposed will not.

You also can continue to call out sick after your 5 days and use sick time, but you won’t be getting additional CAT pay. If you don’t have sick time your manager can make you go on a LOA.
