Yikes! I encountered some of that during my training. It’s upsetting.

i specifically remember this question and also a question about protein powder (which im 99% sure we don't even have anymore, unless it's a shortage thing?) that did this too.
mylegalusername14 points1y ago
Haven’t had for 3yrs+. It was used for smoothies and then these two god-awful plant protein cold brews.

This reminds me of Best Buy’s “We don’t greet our guest, we welcome them.” True/False.
disneyprincessvibes23 points1y ago
Bro, but like at the same time we’re not supposed to “welcome” customers.
Like our DM told us we’re not allowed to say “welcome in” because it sounds inauthentic. “Every partner should work on having their own individual greeting” 🙄
So then of course our amount of greetings went down because people were paralyzed when someone walked in trying to figure out what to say instead. Which in itself forces the greeting to be inauthentic and not genuine. So I went on a personal mission.
After 3 days of me greeting customers with “Salutations Traveler” my SM was like “nah welcome in” is fine 😅🤣

yes! i recently did training and this exact thing happened and i had to read the that little pop up and the “incorrect” answer to see if they matched up. it literally says you’re wrong for choosing the right answer
Eyes_Of_Ibad_8439 points1y ago
Get used to that, it's a Starbucks core value.
victorious_gem28 points1y ago
what the heck is this wording 🥴
Unable_Web434327 points1y ago
The training questions are often so poorly worded or do things like this and it’s just ridiculous. You’re telling me a company this big can’t get that right?

Welcome to Starbucks, where every standard is a double ☕️
jazzysoranio19 points1y ago
Starbucks Policy: You’re not wrong because you’re wrong, you’re wrong because we say you’re wrong.
nutria_twiga12 points1y ago
This one haunted me during my training.
definitely_not_maria10 points1y ago
Wait. I'm confused...they are the same answer? What am I missing?
nikkicarter111114 points1y ago
They are the same answer. The correct answer was marked incorrect, and then the explanation was basically “you were incorrect because you chose the correct answer”
semperviride10 points1y ago
lol this literally happened to me in this training modules today. Had to stare at it to confirm I wasn't misreading it. x_x
Darcie_Autham9 points1y ago
I’m with OP on this but technically this counts as ‘internal resources’… just be careful about what you post!
tregnoc4 points1y ago
The store I started at was extremely dysfunctional and didn't have a SM so I never had to do the computer training they just threw me on the floor. Glad to see I didn't miss much.

Jealous!
uwumoment1 points1y ago
i think i remember seeing this and being SOOO confused then asking if the percentage i got correct was recorded and they said YES 😭
Paprmoon71 points1y ago
I barely paid attention to those. New employees are confused because we are getting two days of training and we are short staffed bc of covid isolations. I legit only know how to do window and a little bit of CS.
PluralPaul1 points1y ago
The training should be way better than it is. The fact we still use outdated training modules is so stupid, not to mention how little they actually prepare green beans for using any of what they "learn" on the floor. Most everything I've internalized was from hands-on
disneyprincessvibes1 points1y ago
If I could infinitely upvote this, I would.
mulderufo131 points1y ago
Lmao I have so much overdue training, I asked to do it one day when it was extremely slow and I had done prep etc and I was told no, because I have to be scheduled for training so instead I ended up deep cleaning the sinks idk what the hell im missing but 🤷🏼♀️ I tried to ask
IfuDidntCome2Party0 points1y ago
The module designer was given a **decaf** that day instead of what they ordered. English is clearly not their first language.
