so the past week or two, i've been on dt a lot (just how the play got written) and i've had quite a few people ask for the ~under the sea refresher~ and then get really upset when i tell them it's a fake drink made up for the 'tok. some people pulled up to the speaker last weekend and had their elementary schooler recite the order (and she wad STRUGGLING, poor thing😭) so she told me a very normal order (i think it was a macchiato/pike for the parents and a cake pop). then, when she got to the refresher and i had to tell her it wasn't real, there was this really awkward silence and then her parents pulled up. i was like "dang okay" and just went about my barista tasks as usual.

then they pull up to window and keep pulling forward and for a moment i think they're just gonna leave but then i realize they're pulling up so the kid can hand me the money (9$ all in quarters). i'm handing off and she goes, with these big wet chihuahua eyes, "is the under the sea refresher really not real? 🥺" and i had to tell her, yes, it was fake and let me tell you it HURT to do so. then i gave them their stuff and they drove off and etc etc.

tl;dr : be prepared for people asking for this the next few weeks/months/lunar cycles because i have the feeling it's going to be a menace.
