Everyone is sick. (self.starbucksbaristas)

Most of my coworkers are coughing and feel sick. One of my coworkers even has a fever and has since yesterday on their shift. The managers wanted to send them home but they changed their minds and told them if they left early or called in today they would have to take a leave of absence. So they’re terrified to not come in but they also are sick. This is absolutely ridiculous. I’ve never thought my store would be like this, yet here we are. I’ve had a manager come in for a week coughing and feeling so sick. I don’t understand.

This happened to my store around New Years. We were down to 5 partners that could work. Still feeling the effects of it. Varying vaccinated statuses and people who are very sensitive and careful. I think the holidays and seeing family just did it. Hang in there.

This happened to my store because our SM kept saying, “you only have two symptoms that’s not enough to call in sick.” Or saying, “well, none of us feel good but we’re still here and if you can’t find coverage you have to come in”. Out of our probably 15 partners, only 3 didn’t have to isolate.
