I usually get the u sound like u don’t wanna be here in which I reply: that’s how I talk tho. And they go oh and awkwardly walk away
Edit: don’t take them seriously… if u wanna change I guess u can change your voice to a deeper tone

I’m so tempted to say something disarming but comical to them, like “I’m actually a cartoon cat” before they see you, but probably the best thing to say is, “Yes! This is my real voice, isn’t it great?” Or “…isn’t it memorable?” These comments keep you positive while gently letting the customer know they didn’t need to make that comment.

I 100% get you here. I've gotten into the habit of talking as smoothly and clearly as possible to make it so its impossible for people to misunderstand me, and it doesn't always work in my favor. I've had people old enough to be my parents tell me my voice is sexy, or weird stuff like that. I've also had a few people make comments about how I "sound like a call center robot" or things like that. Which, sure I guess I kind of understand, but you can't honestly say that you don't see how that could be really defeating to hear for someone that's working at a minimum wage job, you know? The reason that I talk like thay is primarily because I'm deaf in my right ear, but honestly even after I tell people that I'm legally deaf, it doesn't stop them from getting huffy and talking to me like I'm dumb if I ask them to repeat themselves.
Honestly, people that do that sort of stuff over your voice are just super impolite people that would have done SOMETHING rude anyways, they're just latching on to the first thing that they hear. Don't let it get to you, you're not doing anything wrong. :^)
