when will customers realize that bar partners don’t have utensils/bags/sauces (self.starbucksbaristas)

or that we can’t leave the bar. ugh. and why do they always get an attitude about it?
accountedthrowaway5 106 points 1y ago
or their bakery items… they always ask the bar people for bakery items when the ovens are nowhere near the bar
WarmColdBrew [OP] 117 points 1y ago
omg i know
“i’m also waiting on a ___”
dude i literally have no idea if they even started it leave me ALONE 😭
kimememememe 14 points 1y ago
Bruh other way around for being on reg/ warming and walking a warmed loaf down to Karen at hand off too 😭

“I’m still waiting on 3 frappucinos!” Ma’am I took your order 30 seconds ago I am clearly not the one making your drink nor can I make the workers on bar go faster 🥴
Buttafly_360 12 points 1y ago
Felt tht😅💯
minty-hitler 18 points 1y ago
and they ask you to check on it during a huge rush
Several-Government82 18 points 1y ago
That’s when I pretend to talk into my headset and say “checking on a sandwich for John? Okay great it’s in the que”
minty-hitler 13 points 1y ago
that is so smart! we don’t have headsets at my store :((

Felt this, I be wanting to hop on POS to help the next ppl in line but I'm planted at bar and cant move and they will stare at me as if I'm supposed to take their order and I'll have to tell them that "someone will be out here to help you guys shortly" bcuz some reason my coworkers thinks its okay to leave me up front by myself and chit chat in the back of the house as if theres not ppl to serve smh
Brgnbo 32 points 1y ago
I haaateeee when this happens. I’ll be on drive bar which is closest to the POS and they’ll just stare at me through the glass like I’m ignoring them. I’m always like we’ll be will you in a moment!!!!!!! And the front person will be in the back or something.

I always act super stressed on bar so they don’t bother me
Buttafly_360 7 points 1y ago
I feel u!!! Its crazy, bcuz if they told me I would be CS or soloing behind bar then it would be different I would take they orders..but if im planted at bar its like sorry 🤷🏽‍♀ cant help u guys
CS3883 12 points 1y ago
This is definitely an issue with a few people I work with. It's always the same damn people too 🤦🏽‍♀️ but then they get pissed if someone else does it who isn't them lol
Buttafly_360 2 points 1y ago
Right!!! Smh
CS3883 5 points 1y ago
No shit Ive been on the floor before with one other person, maybe 2 and then 3 of them were back there fucking around. Like come the fuck on....I just stop giving a shit about going fast or doing above and beyond because they are essentially getting paid to do nothing. Why should I carry the brunt of their work?
Buttafly_360 2 points 1y ago
Nbs, thats where I'm at atp..🤦🏽‍♀
Necessary_Low939 27 points 1y ago
They will never. If they come to the bar and order drinks thinking it’s a register they won’t know that we don’t have forks or spoons.
lilkiosk 25 points 1y ago
Straight up though. Like please leave me alone. Can’t you see the mocha on my face and the whip in my hair and the 6 drinks I have queued?
overturned23 21 points 1y ago
“i’m still waiting on a cheese danish”…like ok? do you not see that the oven is on the OPPOSITE side of the store?
Indiana2323 15 points 1y ago
As a customer, I wish that there was a totally separate place to pick stuff up. I used to think it was ok to ask the person who was closest to the pick-up place, but this subreddit has taught me how rude that is. Sorry!
WarmColdBrew [OP] 22 points 1y ago
it’s not like it’s totally rude to ask for utensils or such from the barista making drinks it’s more like people get mad when i tell them to go to the register or other side, had some chick give me a total attitude today LMAO

but yeah u can usually just ask the register n it’s much easier for everyone, no need to apologize tho
minty-hitler 13 points 1y ago
Oh it’s not rude to ask for items at all. The only problem we have is when people have an attitude and expect you to drop everything for them
Eyes_Of_Ibad_84 14 points 1y ago
About the same time they realize they're paying $6 for a $0.30 drink.
champshere 9 points 1y ago
Just stop everything you’re doing to help them. (I’m joking)
evilash85 8 points 1y ago
Never, we are their servants . They want it now and we should always be available to get it for them.
Chemical-Patient-420 5 points 1y ago
Never, they will just keep staring us down and yelling , but also get mad when have to stop and do the same thing for other costumers. The Earth does revolve around you Karen! Wait your turn.
FfierceLaw 5 points 1y ago
Or any food at all. Sigh. I just say they’re working on your food over there and when they’re done they will bring it over here. Meanwhile I must keep hand crafting beverages

"Cool. I'll have (insert name here) get that for you."
Familiar_Creme_6974 1 points 1y ago
We don’t really do planted that well at my store. Like we try but no one’s super efficient at their jobs bc my store sucks so everyone’s always hopping off and doing something else.
mastaofdeath -9 points 1y ago
If you guys get asked a lot, why don’t you just keep a plexi with all of those things at your bar area? Set yourself up for success ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
mjitterbug 6 points 1y ago
1. Our bar is so crowded already, we barely have room to make drinks and definitely don't have room for all the other spoons and sugar and Sriracha and crap people ask us for.

2. When we are in a rush making drinks and there is a backup on mobiles and people stop us from working so they can ask stupid ass questions, wouldn't you believe it, it slows down our production and causes everyone else's drinks to come out later. We go as fast as we can, and if you want to stop me to ask about your 6 caramel macchiatos you're still waiting on, guess what! Now you get to wait 20+ seconds longer for disrupting my flow and train of thought.
mastaofdeath 0 points 1y ago
Lol. Don’t know why I’m getting downvoted. It doesn’t need to be multiple plexis. Just one that houses all three utensils and sriracha. Our bar is crowded too, but I’m saying if it gets asked frequently, it doesn’t hurt to keep one plexi there to support your bar person.
