An actual interaction I had yesterday.(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by brattiebun
Me: *working on knocking out a bunch of drinks on bar*
My coworker: *comes down from warming area and calls out a double smoked*
Old man: *comes up to the counter* “is this my sandwich?”
Me: “I’m not sure, did you order a double smoked bacon?”
Old man: *looks at the sticker on the bag* “I don’t know?!”
Me: “okay….do you remember what you asked for when you ordered?”
Old man: (in a rude and agitated tone) “well I don’t know?! they’re all the same thing!”
Then he walked to the warming area to stare at all the sandwich’s and came back and took the bag. It blows me away that people literally do not know what they’re ordering and get agitated when I try to help them. Also, I’ve been on bar slammed for the past 30 minutes, the oven is on the other side of the store, and I do not have superhuman hearing so no, I don’t immediately know if it’s yours.

Love when we're clearly slammed on bar and someone comes over and either tries to order a drink or complains that they're waiting for food 🤦🏼♀️

I had someone tell me I wear glasses because the white supremacists use astigmatism to opress minorities amd nature and spirits have a clear vision and hw wanted me to remove my glasses... all because i told him he has to wear shoes to be in the store or for us to take his order lol

It was difficult staying composed because I wanted to laugh but not have him go crazy on me. I first off don't look white, I've heard I look Jewish, middle eastern but I'm actually mexican so it was just funny hearing that my genetic blindness is due to white supremacy. So I juat took off my glasses and hoped I would be able to ring in his order.
