I came from a single owned bistro in an office building and the customers were so nice and personable there, I thought with being my charm it’d at least tame some of the beasts, I was wrong. You’re not alone, covid has turned a ton of people into monsters and it’s soooo draining. Please be safe 💕

I don’t think u should harm urself over some trivial words. U can get mad but that’s it. They don’t define u and it sucks that ur sm don’t support u. I would say gather some people to bring it up to partner resources and how customers verbally abuses everyone for no reason and also get no support from store managers. Customers are not always right and ur store manager can definitely defend their baristas. It’s like what if a customer starts attacking u? Is ur dumb sm gonna say “customers are always right” they might and that’s just stupid. Sm needa go!

thank you 💕 it’s definitely been stressful and i definitely think i am going to bring it to partner resources. my store is a mess, so many people are leaving and there are only two SS (including myself). having really awful customers on top of that just makes everything more stressful, it sucks :/

That sux. I hope u can transfer or something but it doesn’t make other locations any better because it’s quite hit or miss. If u are a supervisor and the sm is not allowing u to stand up for urself that’s messed up. If I was you I would refuse service and tell them to bring it to corporate. U can also fill out an incident report. One customer leaving won’t impact the stores business

I know it’s hard to remember, but it’s just coffee. Any problem that a customer has can be fixed in less 3 minutes. If you aren’t receiving any support for nasty customers like that from your SSV or SM, you should reach out to the Partner Contact Center. You do NOT have to endure this treatment! I’m so sorry and I sincerely hope it improves. Customers are pretty nasty everywhere but Starbucks really brings out their entitled side.

i would look for another job, but the benefits are good, i love my co workers and it’s right near where i live and i don’t have a car… so it’s tough.

This may not be the most helpful response, but it’s something I had to learn over the last few years with starbucks, and it’s that you just can’t let it get into your head. You are not stupid. You are trying your absolutely best and these customers are only that: customers. People suck sometimes, the only way to get past it is to develop a thick skin. I personally don’t think customers should be allowed to talk to you like that and they should be kicked out and never allowed there again. Definitely contact partner resources. If it helps in any way, I had a woman yell at me saying, “Excuse me, can I be helped?!” While I was alone because my barista was late by 2 hours. I work at a tarbucks (and I came from corporate!) people are relentless, she made me cry and I never cry in front of anyone. These last few years have been so difficult, but you’re not alone, I promise you that. Sending you love and light <3
