so i recently tested positive and am trying to call out of my opening shift which i did find coverage for. my opening shift is at 4 so i called at 4 since i figure the openers are already there but nobody is answering. i called and waited for a couple of minutes but nobody answered? do i just leave it be or should i text my sm that i tried calling the store but nobody answered? i just don’t know what to do bc it’s 4 am and i am exhausted 😭

yeahh it sucks calling out for openings , keep calling and even shoot a text. when did u find out u tested positive , you should’ve sent a text yesterday evening or so

agh okay i just didn’t wanna be a bother since i’m still new and calling out is giving me anxiety 😭😭 i’ll prolly just wait till 4:30 since that’s when we open

for opening you should always try to let someone know the day before or really as much in advance if you know you’re not going to make your shift. things happen and sometimes it’s just same day and super early but you need to minimally text / call the opening shift and the sm if you can’t reach the store

yeah they all knew i wasn’t going in since my asm was the one to find me coverage. i ended up calling again at 4:30 and the ssv already knew who was covering my shift and the whole situation. i will def keep that in mind tho to let them know the day before i didn’t know we could do that

yea!! as soon as you know, let someone else at your store know! just helps find coverage and shows responsibility tbh but sounds like you got it all worked out so that’s good!

ended up calling again at 4:30 and was good to go :)
