standard operating procedure book? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by starjamespma
my store is, to put it mildly, not very good at being a starbucks. i want to help as much as i can on minor hours, is there a starbucks standard operating procedure book i could read cover-to-cover to find out how to fix a lot of problems, or something similar? the training covered a lot, but it was almost a year ago and i’ve forgotten a lot of things lol

It's called the Steps to Excellence and it's on the hub, it's hundreds of pages after you print it and mostly a waste of time.
The things that are useful are links off to the right within the Steps that have various standards and routines you can print. For example, oatmeal routine, beverage sequencing etc.

i’m looking for a lot of the cleaning task-type things, what needs to get done when, how to do it, etc. would those be in there?

There's a maintenance schedule in the daily records book. It'll tell you what needs to be cleaned daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly. It's near the back.

How to clean it is on the iPad under that app with the sirens eye and other training, if not the store maintenance and cleanliness guide book that should be in a binder near the managers desk.

Play cards? Or clean play?
Play cards for cleaning should be somewhere at your store (maybe not hung up like they should be), and most clean play stuff can be found in the DRB

you would think so wouldn’t you /j lmfao my store is an absolute mess, someone from a different store came in and tried to help but everyone hates him now so i’m trying to also help in a different way, im mostly just trying to figure out what should be getting done daily, weekly, monthly, etc. for example, i didn’t know until today, 10 months into working at starbucks, that the grate at the bottom of the ice bins on the bars came off. i’ve never seen them removed and cleaned, just hot water poured over the top of them. also the frap roast pump has had mold in it twice, i seriously have no idea how my store is passing health and safety examinations
