Disappointed they rolled back the vaccine mandate.(self.starbucksbaristas)

Really upset that the vaccine mandate got walked back. That was really the only reason I was sticking it out and continuing to work in these conditions. That Starbucks let 6 science deniers (on the Supreme Court) convince them that this was the right call is disappointing. Twice now I've had to cancel my trip to see my niece because of some anti Vaxer spreading COVID around our store which means I haven't met her since she was born.
"YoU should just go down anyway" they say. Spoken like someone that truly cares about no one but themselves. Like they don't care if my vulnerable infant niece gets sick and dies from a disease they don't believe in. It's so infuriating. This is science! It shouldn't be political!
Is there a number or email to contact to fight this? I don't want to quit my job but I will to protect my family.
Edit: I'm not here to argue about science with people so I won't. Yea I know you can still get COVID while vaccinated that's why my trips to my family got cancelled because all my unvaxed coworkers got on planes got sick and came to work because they didn't believe COVID was real. Thankfully because I'm vaccinated my symptoms are mild so I'm not clogging up a hospital but if they had followed the science and gotten vaccinated they would have been harder to infect or at the very least would have been smart enough to stay home instead of shutting our store down.

I think Starbucks can still mandate the vaccine; it’s their right as a private business to enforce a company-wide vaccine mandate. To me it’s like your mom telling guests to take their shoes off in her home; legally she doesn’t have to ask that of her guests but the government can’t stop her. If I’m right (and I’m no lawyer, so take this with a grain of salt) then I’m more pissed that they did away with the mandate; the ruling said that the *president* can’t mandate the vaccine, not that private businesses can’t.

My mom only has a few weeks of chemo left and every day I’m afraid she will get sick. Her blood work is very worrying and if something happens to her it will be very dangerous. I’ve already brought covid home once from Starbucks and every day I’m afraid to go to work and risk it. Especially since literally no customers wear masks at my store.

You do realize that vaccinated people can spread covid too...right?!

I’m totally with you! Thanks for speaking up. Things really need to change.

The science shows literally everyone is going to get this. I’m vaccinated, I fully believe in preventative measures but at this point even the CDC and WHO have said that it’s going to spread to everyone so get vaccinated and follow the new 5 day quarantine.

Supreme Court just said you can't mandate it federally across the country but individual companies can make their own policy on it.

They wouldn't be sued. They're a private business and can require anything they want of their employees.
I work for a company that went through with terminating everyone who didn't disclose their vaccination status at the end of the year. They now require every new hire to be vaccinated.

Everyone has a right to choose. If you want to be vaxxed, by all means definitely do it. But if someone isn’t comfortable getting it, it shouldn’t cost them their income.

I don't think Starbucks rolled the mandate back. As far as I know, the sbux vacx mandate is going into effect in February

They just released a statement yesterday that they're walking it back because of the Supreme Court decision
