Because I always order with 1 or 2 add shots so I don't want a room temp iced latte that tastes more like milk than espresso and even if i didn't get the add shot the milk to espresso ratio would be messed up. Similar for teas or iced coffees I don't want to mess with the syrup, cream, to coffee or tea ratio. A grande iced tea with the standard 4 LCS and light ice wouldn't taste the same as one with regular ice.

If they want light ice they'll ask for it, other than that I always make drinks woth standard ice to ensure good ratios for good tasting coffee 🤌

Because some people like their drinks cold? I personally hate light ice with cold espresso drinks. I get luke warm coffee under a thin layer of ice no thanks

Because without the standard ice amount it’s often room temp lattes if the milk isn’t consistently put back in the fridge (which we all know it’s not)

I love extra ice in my drinks but I might be one of the only ones lol
