Ethical Dilemma (self.starbucksbaristas)

Had a coworker get fired today because they had tested positive for covid and had worked unknowingly… because they were asymptomatic. Doesn’t really seem fair considering it could’ve been any of us and also who’s to say she didn’t get it from one of our coworkers considering theirs been a considerable number of call outs lately.

She definitely needs to have this looked into because nothing about that seems normal.

how did they get get fired for that…??? isn’t it Starbucks that says u can still work if you have Covid and asymptomatic?
piratedashel 3 points 1y ago
If you isolate for 5 days from the first day of your positive test.

Update: she’s fighting it and talking to HR tomorrow
MiaLedger 3 points 1y ago
Oof, that needs to be reported.

Info: why were they tested to begin with? If they were asymptomatic they would have no reason to test unless they knew they were exposed.

Ya my point exactly seems like they’re using her as a scapegoat for all the recent exposures… when it’s just the new variant sweeping through. It’s stuff like this that seriously makes my consider unionizing
piratedashel 2 points 1y ago
No I’m asking you why they were tested if they were asymptomatic.

Because there were so many people calling out at work w covid
