Hey I had an interview the other day n the manager said starting pay was a little less than $13 which was honestly shocking they pay so low but rn but I make $15 at my current barista job can I negotiate a higher pay since I have experience? I want to switch to Starbucks anyway bc my current job doesn’t have any insurance offered. The manager said the company is raising minimum wage to $15 in like June or something tho? So if I did negotiate a higher pay would it not matter in June? Or does Starbucks do raises in a way that employees who make over 15 in June will also still get a raise? Thanks!

i dont think they accept negotiations tbh

You can absolutely negotiate - it has to get approval from the district manager as well so it’s not easy but it doesn’t hurt to try!

i’ve negotiated my pay twice (transferred states once, rehire the second time). they don’t make it easy, but it is possible. imo temporary pay cut is worth the insurance.

Yeah I think so too but when/how does Starbucks do their raises? Is it one raise a year?

Did you ever get a raise? I currently make $15 but looking to go back into corporate, which is $12.50.

No!! My manager could not give me higher than starting wage either. They also don’t do 30 n 60 performance review raises n when hired I was told the company would raise everyone to at least $15 but it’s since been pushed back to end of august according to my manager which is fucking garbage but I need the insurance so I’m not quitting

Were you at a Starbucks before coming off of your old barista job?

i’ve heard it’s hard i couldn’t negotiate my pay when i tried, and there’s partners tht have worked like 3 years longer than me and they’re only paid like 25cents more than me

If you negotiated now, it wouldn't matter when the raise comes.
Also, keep your other job. Starbucks is not worth it
