I love my job even though it causes me the most stress i’ve ever been through

definitely please remember that the subreddit is so negative and vent-y *because* of the pandemic - this is the worst I've seen the subreddit in 4 years. It used to be full of memes, primarily!
I loved my job at Starbucks, once all the bumps were ironed out. I had almost a full year where I looked forward to coming to work, I loved my customers, I loved my coworkers, and I loved making drinks!
What fixed my experience with Starbucks was having a manager who knew when he crossed a line with us, and would take us into the back to apologise and talk about it. He recognised when he would get overstressed and lash out, and he would try to make up for it. The team functioned like a well-oiled machine, and the SSVs worked together to ensure dayparts transitioned well between one another.
When everything else is working really well, and you're feeling supported by your team and your manager, the negative customers will be nothing but a blip on the radar. You might be sad/angry about it for a day or two, you might even carry a grudge, but it won't be the only thing on your mind.
The key piece for me in any job is that I feel supported by my coworkers. If I'm going into a job and having to field coworker disputes *and* customer disputes, I'll be miserable and overstressed and everything will suck lmao I also liked CS the best! I liked being able to be left to myself to handle a bunch of little things. With an organised back room, and a fairly large bar area, I was free to move as fast as I could and do whatever needed to be done.

Used to work at Starbucks before the pandemic and CS was so fun and cute. My store was super small, so our condiment station & garbage bags reflected that. Bar is also really fun especially when you’re making iced coffee & lattes. Miss it sometimes
