“my kid wants a charlie” (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by welcome2mybog
had a lady come in and try to order a “charlie,” at the time i thought the kid was pranking us and his mother and it was pretty amusing - found out later it’s a dunkin donuts drink. but our reply was that we had the “taylor latte” (whatever it was called lol) which i think was just a nonfat caramel latte. what kid wants that, lol?? but the mom ordered it for him anyway (and this was a little kid, probably not someone who should be drinking 2 espresso shots) and we all felt so bad for him lmao… anyone else been asked for a “charlie?”

Used to work at Dunkin. Its a cold brew with caramel, splash of milk, vsscf, and drizzle. I would drink it all the time there cause it was the only good non seasonal item

it was even more funny to be the bad guy and tell the parents that this was a coffee drink. I know it sounds cruel, I swear working there made me such a jerk lol

I remember making it handing it out then the parents would hand them to their toddlers 😳😳😳😳 like in their car seats and everything

I hate seeing parents hand a Refresher to their little kids. ☹️

understandable lmao, we could easily make that if they had known what it was 😂

Why don’t you recommend a hot chocolate, or white hot chocolate or cream based Frappuccino for a kid? Even tho they ask for something you can still recommend

i wasn’t the one speaking to them, i think my coworker brought it up because it was the only latte we were aware of with a name attached to it. the mom didn’t even really listen to their description of what it was, she interrupted them to say “we’ll just have that.” we certainly could have rec’d something more kid-friendly if she’d given us the chance lol
