Completely out of bags so we dug around the basement for these bad boys. Last used in 1998. (reddit.com)

they’re so much prettier than the ones we use now

You have a basement at your store?!
LZARDKING [OP] 156 points 1y ago
No, just in our building. Only the building manager has access to it. But we keep our like summer patio furniture in there and apparently a box of 24 year old bags.
Bhaisaab86 6 points 1y ago
You have SEASONAL patio furniture?
LZARDKING [OP] 7 points 1y ago
I mean yeah we don’t put patio furniture out in the snow
Bhaisaab86 9 points 1y ago
Oh… I forgot winter weather exists 😂 I’ve been in Florida too long

My store has a basement! We have a second floor with more seating, too. Our store is in a downtown area so that’s probably why, lol. We have a massive store room, which is great because we’re really busy most of the year.

Wow, some photographic proof how good Starbucks used to be. These bags are prettier and cozy tbh

I wonder if these are collectible and worth anything.
intensesuspense 47 points 1y ago
With a quick eBay search, looks like they sell for 20 bucks a piece
LZARDKING [OP] 26 points 1y ago
No way
socialparasite44 47 points 1y ago
Is that food safe?
NotyourangeLbabe 22 points 1y ago
My thoughts exactly
notsponsored-who 7 points 1y ago
With the amount of dust the box and bags have been collecting over a 30ish year period I’d say no.
settledupon 47 points 1y ago
A relic
Vincent_Cromwell27 39 points 1y ago
Sell that on eBay. Starbucks collectors or price gougers will go insane lol
xCherryBombshell 30 points 1y ago
The health department would never.

That bag is as old as me
LZARDKING [OP] 9 points 1y ago
My store is older than me! Always weird
It_is_Katy 2 points 1y ago
Lmao so is mine!! I live with my grandparents around the corner from my store, and they said that store has been there since they moved in...in 1996. I was born in 2001.
xtracheddargoldfishh 8 points 1y ago
damn!!!!!
LegendOfJakelope 7 points 1y ago
Woah, love the design! ..... concerned about putting food in them.

Lmao sell them online, use 10% of funds to buy paper bags from the store
Asleep-Strawberry716 5 points 1y ago
KEEP A FEW!!!!
misscerh 5 points 1y ago
Oooh vintage
CardiographicDuck 4 points 1y ago
Nice!
Chrocus 2 points 1y ago
The copyright date of 1998 doesn't mean the bags are that old. Still that's fascinating!
Necessary_Low939 2 points 1y ago
Omg omg they look soooo nice!!!!
hmidwop 2 points 1y ago
Was the quality the same?
Glittering_737 1 points 1y ago
Those are actually pretty cute
SorryNewspaper 1 points 1y ago
Holyfuck. Remember when Starbucks had a SOUL? I miss the interior design with all the metal sirens and steamy swirls everywhere 🥺
Longjumping-Rest-112 1 points 1y ago
THESE ARE AWESOME!!! I say we go back to these❤️
widefeetwelcome 1 points 1y ago
Those are the Lemley bags! He’s the guy who did all the graphic design during that time. I’ve got an old etagere in my basement with that same leaf design.
