I Quit (self.starbucksbaristas)

After 5 months of a living hell, I snapped. Partner 320** clocking out for good. I had plenty of barista jobs before the siren and I completely fell in love with making coffee, I’ve worked in cafe jobs for 5 years but I’ve never hated anything more than this, I among a few others being belittled and berated daily since day one simply because we weren’t perfect and that we should be im sorry my best wasn’t good enough for the company or at least my higher up standards despite the long 14 hour shifts sometime several days a week, the not getting a day off for sometimes a month the having hot drinks thrown at my face simply for no reason just because I can’t take it no more

I hate to hear stuff like this. I was just hired as an SM from outside of the company. I have a lot of training left, but my main goal will be for this type of thing not to happen in my store. I think one of the reasons I was hired is because of my ability to develop a team with POSITIVE reinforcement. I hope that you find somewhere that treats you well. It sounds like you deserve it!

It's the customers for me. They are the most entitled, weird group. So you are going around to all the Starbucks in the area to find a stupid cup? They go crazy over these cups that we have to put a limit on how many they can buy. It's stupid😒

For me personally it wasn’t the customers, for the most part despite my store being the busiest in our area I really enjoyed the chats with the regular customers and will miss them, sure some days with certain customers made it feel like hell but for the most part I unfortunately just had bad management
