i feel very stupid (self.starbucksbaristas)

so tuesday i found out my sister had covid i had already had monday off and i was supposed to work the next four days only. i called the store and i didn’t pass the covid coach it said to isolate for five days my manager told me to check in with her everyday to see how i was feeling but i thought it was just her being nice. today i get a call from her asking me how i was feeling i said fine and then very nicely she kinda just told me why i hadn’t gone back and that my co workers were asking if i still worked there. i had gotten the impression i had to isolate until my sister tested negative which i now realize was very stupid in my part. because of my schedule i basically just took the whole week off and i feel so fucking bad i’m so embarrassed

no, you’re definitely supposed to isolate for 5 days if you come into contact with a positive case, it’s Starbucks and CDC guidelines

I have been In contact with positive coworkers, and I had to self isolate for 5 days and I was never exhibiting any symptoms or anything at all. I’m pretty sure it’s Starbucks standard though

My sister had it and I was around her but since I don’t live with her I was allowed to work.

You were still in contact with her they say if you are within 5 feet of someone for longer than 15 minutes then you have to self-isolate for 5 days it’s kinda a newer thing but we’ve had it for a little bit now at least 2 Months it’s been Starbucks standards

Assuming you live with your sister, yes, that is an automatic 5 day isolation with pay.

You get two paid 5 day isolations per fiscal quarter. If your paycheck looks funky, check with your SM and if they try to mess with you I would suggest partner resources and your DM. Unfortunately you’re not the first partner I’ve seen with this issue. I can take a photo of the new guides but the communications should be on the hub.
