what if we did seasonal aprons? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by changbinsomnia
just wanted to get baristas thoughts on this idea. what if we had spring/summer aprons? like pastel green, yellow, purple, blue & pink?
obviously solid colored aprons, not a design. i was at work today and some coworkers agreed that it'd be cute :)

I don't think seasonal would work, just because it's important that the business maintain their branding, plus the whole schtick about "Green Apron" stuff.

That being said, they used to do promo aprons! I have a grey teavana one, aaaand I think there was a light blue one forrrr.... refreshers? It would be cool to see them do that again, if not for promotional stuff then at least for more holidays. There's already red for Christmas, why not do more? Boost morale a bit lmao

right. i know theres that 'starbucks is green' thing. i just thought it would be cute :(

They definitely were cute - even if the store only gets 2 or so aprons, it's a nice dash of colour and it's fun to promote stuff like that! But I don't think Starbucks has successfully launched anything big since Fizzio... it's a shame!

yeah :) i think it'd make for a more gentle and happy looking environment. just wanna bring some excitement to the workplace. the best i can do with my apron right now is adding a bunch of pins to it, but i love it

orange apron for halloween?
StormTheParade 7 points 1y ago
Oh I'd love that!! With a little embroidered jack o lantern too!!

The light blue one was for the Frappuccino. One of my coworkers came in with one he got from eBay the other day

GUYS WAIT CAN YOU IMAGINE A PRIDE APRON 🥺
881634 6 points 1y ago
But they’d do those awful off-brand colours for plausible deniability like all the pride shirts 😔

I feel like once upon a time in my barista days we had pink aprons for Mother’s Day..,.
mfmarque 8 points 1y ago
Ooo we had pink aprons when we launched La Boulange. Possibly the only good thing from that.
BitchyNordicBarista 5 points 1y ago
Ohhhhhh!!! Yessss. I’m glad I didn’t make this up in my head 😂

Maybe our SM let us wear them extra long because we all loved them.
changbinsomnia [OP] 2 points 1y ago
that sounds so cute
BitchyNordicBarista 1 points 1y ago
They were! I just wish I could remember if it was real or not now 😂
AdIll7946 7 points 1y ago
I’d fuck with a pride apron sooooooo hard.
potathoe17 5 points 1y ago
i just wish we had a halloween apron😭
changbinsomnia [OP] 8 points 1y ago
pitching this to corporate asap ☝🏻😔
ShannyES 2 points 1y ago
Honestly though… when’s the last time we even got a shirt? It’s been a hot minute at my store.
changbinsomnia [OP] 1 points 1y ago
first and most recent shirt i've gotten was the 50 year one and that was like 4 months ago 😔

Conceptually a fun idea, but I don't think there is a way to execute that doesn't result in a huge environmental impact. Even just the red Christmas aprons are an ecological catastrophe when it comes to how to produce them and how they tend to just send them to the landfill at the end of the season.
FTorrez81 1 points 1y ago
Whaaaat ? 😭 our store lets us keep them
cowboyqweer 1 points 1y ago
I wish that was more common but its not company policy and a lot of managers won't let people keep them. 🥲
mirmir2323 1 points 1y ago
In the UK we get red aprons for Christmas time but green the rest of the year
changbinsomnia [OP] 6 points 1y ago
same over here.. and i didnt even get a red apron 😭
mirmir2323 1 points 1y ago
What no thats so upsetting 😭
FTorrez81 1 points 1y ago
I only got a green one with my name embroidered 🥲
adventurelyfe 1 points 1y ago
