It’s supposed to be warm right? Who knows where our test strips are if we even have them.

It should be readily available at all times. Health inspector guy won’t be happy! They should come in the box that your sanitizer comes in

The store I work at is still figuring things out in terms of proper procedures. When I was about 3 weeks in, the health inspector came and since I was the one who had filled the sanitizer, started asking me about the sanitizer and if I had used the test strips. I had never seen them before or even known about them. A SSV brought them to us but the color codes were smeared since they had been submerged in water… so that was the last I saw of them. I had forgotten about them until this post so I can ask our manager about it next week

i was just talking about this with my shift lol. one of my coworkers bring it out hot asf and others ice cold 💀

Once one of the eco sure people said that our cold water is actually the recommended temperature (can’t remember now because I don’t work there anymore, but it was like 70 degrees or something) and measured it in front of us.

Sani is supposed to be lukewarm. not cold, not room temperature, and not hot. lukewarm is a term that is supposed to be neutral to touch. meaning that it is close to body temperature and is around 100-105 degrees
cringeqween131 points1y ago
The test strip says around 80⁰F I believe (ill have to check when I go in later today)
Normal_Wheat4 points1y ago
Not hot but Luke warm. It’s supposed to be under 70
board-certified3 points1y ago
just googled what temperature is lukewarm and first 5 top hits were like warm is near or above body temperature around 101-104. Room temp is 72-78. so what you’re saying is colder than lukewarm.
Logical-Doubt-60214 points1y ago
Yeah but one of my shifts makes it really hot and then gaslights me if i make mine room temp 😜
cringeqween137 points1y ago
Coach them 😜
dazedinreverse1 points1y ago
Show them on the iPad. It says exactly what it should be
thebeancakes3 points1y ago
I would never expect the sani to be hot when I worked at starbs, the amount of times I felt like the skin on my hand was going to disintegrate was far too many.
4shotsin3 points1y ago
Over two years... never seen a test strip or been told about them. 😯
BookDragon19963 points1y ago
I think its supposed to be cold or closer to room temp. However when cleaning sticky things or anything that's hard to get off I use hot cause its less scrubbing that way. But I always make it specific for that project then get rid of it right after I'm done.
cringeqween136 points1y ago
Use hot water or hot soapy water
board-certified4 points1y ago
sami isn’t supposed to be cold it’s supposed to be lukewarm/warm
monicamac522 points1y ago
Thanks for this!
Torirock101 points1y ago
this bitch at work today made boiling hot sanitizer i was like umm
Sirmarchboy221 points1y ago
The health lady came a while back, she said when doing dishes and stuff it's fine to be hot ish since we dump it pretty often and stuff, but the stuff we bring out front should always stay room temp since we leave it for longer then like 30 mins
