a question for the SB barista masses(self.starbucksbaristas)

are y’all the hands free headset type of store or no??
lolsorryfam2 points1y ago
we only have one hands free headset and it’s almost always given to the shift

We have headsets where you press the side button once to turn on the microphone connected to the speaker outside (dt customers) and then we press the same button to turn it off. But for coworkers, it's the middle button and you have to hold down on it like a walkie talkie

The ones we have are able to switch between the two if you hold a button combination when you turn it on.

Do you mean the type that auto turns off your headset if someone drives through?
Yes
linearSpree [OP]4 points1y ago
the type that lets you speak to other people by pressing it once to turn it on and again to turn it off (as opposed to holding it down the entire time you speak)

Most stores turn it to a push to talk when speaking to coworkers inside, outside is always a press and release to talk
linearSpree [OP]2 points1y ago
so they have it hands free when they go outside?
aaronbdancer2 points1y ago
Yeah, you push and don’t have to touch it again. It’ll turn off automatically when the person drives away, if the car doesn’t move it has to be pressed again to turn off the mic outside

ohhh, yes, we do

we have those at our starbucks.
when i was at panda express we had the exact same headsets. we got a new manager who thought we talked too much and made it so that we had to hold it to talk but it ended up causing a lot more trouble for us because we couldn’t communicate while tasking
