**Posted this on the starbucks subreddit but it got locked. so i wanted to share it here.**
Today this guy came thru the drive through and forgot his wallet. So i tried telling my coworker to save his order so he could come back for it. When she saved the order, she pressed find order, and then it said “would you like to automatically find next order?” and she said yes, instead of no. So it kept bringing up that guys order. I tried to tell her she could press no and it would bring up the other people’s orders. And before i could she SCOFFED AT ME and she was like “I CAN DO IT, OKAY?” and she just ended up cancelling the order. I was like 😒 ok.
And then later, someone ordered a refresher and asked for the “biggest size we have” she was going to ring it up as a venti, but i told her to do a trenta. and she said “i heard him say venti” and in my head i was like ?? how do u get venti from “biggest size u have” but anyway i asked her to ask him what size he wanted and she was like “why don’t u do it >:(“ so i asked and he actually did want a trenta. lmfao.
She also NEVER works bar. she says she isn’t “confident enough” bell maybe you’d get experience and become confident if you actually WORKED ON THE BAR. U CANT WORK AN STARBUCKS AND EXPECT TO NOT MAKE DRINKS. LMFAO. everytime i work with her , she is always on register or drive thru. she never even helps me make stuff when we’re super busy and she doesn’t have any customers (like one time drive thru was hell but she was front and had no customers)
I closed with her once and when she was doing dishes, i asked her to bring me something from the sink, and she straight up said “it’s back her. so if u need it come get it urself” and i was like bitch?? who tf do u think u are? i will fight u in this starbucks rn.
I think i might also just be kinda salty about her. we had a secret santa and i said i liked pokémon and animal crossing and she got me a demon slayer shirt :/. i also said no candles please and she got me a TWELVE INCH CANDLE. like what??? it’s just wild out here.
ALSO one more thing that isn’t super crazy. but every time orders a frappuccino (like a mocha or caramel crunch) she asks if they want coffee in it and it’s so annoying like OF COURSE THEY WANT COFFEE IN IT BRO. my shift manager told her to stop and she actually argued with her ?? she was like “well what if they don’t want coffee ??” and all my shift said was “well then they’d tell u! or they wouldn’t order it!” and i was like yess gurll tell herrr

There's something so annoying about coworkers not being able to take any criticism to the point where they argue with supervisors and managers lol. Definitely seen this a lot, they tend to either chill out eventually or leave because they aren't suited for the environment.
When they think they can stick to certain positions because they're the only ones they are comfortable on... BUT THEY STILL AREN'T EVEN GOOD AT THEM?? Yes lol drives me crazy. When new people say they feel confident or most comfortable on window like... You will absolutely regret saying that soon enough 😂
The only thing I didn't understand here was that she was asked not to ask customers if they want coffee in their frappuccinos? I know if it's one where the name is different makes sense, but for example if someone asks for a caramel crunch I'd always ask if they want coffee because sometimes it's for their kid. I had a guy order a mocha cookie crumble and he was pissed it was caffeinated because it was for his daughter. We told him next time to order the double chocolatey chip. So even sometimes I'll still ask!

yeah but like it’s whole ass adults w/ no kids ordering .. like idk why they wouldn’t want coffee lol. and my shift manager said since it’s advertised as a coffee drink just don’t even ask about it
SakasuCircus1 points1y ago
I never asked them or assumed they didn't want caffeine/coffee unless they specifically ordered it. I would warn them when they ordered refreshers for kids though, that it is caffeinated, but otherwise if they wanted it creme or decaf it was on them to order it.(not counting the times when they ask which fraps were decaf/had no coffee)

Sounds like she has a huge attitude problem.
I have a coworker that drives me insane. He never follows the standard - and the one time I was on Sri and he was on window ( I’m usually on bar) he kept getting mad at me for checking each drink and trying to set them up ( as I’m supposed to). This morning I was grabbing a coffee and he went and started pulling stickers on my bar instead of just telling me what he was looking for. He drives me insane

yeah bro i have ppl like that too. one guy works drive thru and he just passes shit out without paying attention. THIS GIRL DOES TOO THO. she handed someone a pink drink when they needed a mf white mocha. HOW TF DO U GET THAT CONFUSED HELLO
Hyjinnks3 points1y ago
Man i cannot STAND some coworkers sometimes it rly is the little things- however admittedly I’ll ask the frappuccino coffee question to customers if I get the vibe they’re ordering for a kid or something cause not a lot of ppl know we can make em without coffee ive been told :0
Torirock10 [OP]3 points1y ago
a lot of the ppl she asked were just rlly confused they were like “??? yes i want coffee what??”
BestEggplant692 points1y ago
ok I do this when it’s like a white mocha frap or something. I’ve found a lot of the time when I don’t ask they actually don’t want coffee and it holds up the line lol maybe that’s why she does that. But for a caramel crunch that is unnecessary
Torirock10 [OP]2 points1y ago
yeah but like they’re just whole ass adults ordering like ofc they want coffee 🙄
ton1balon12 points1y ago
I've had a few people ask if we could make frappucinos "decaf", and when I told them instead that we can do it without coffee completely, they were happy because they have some kind of medical condition where they legit cannot have caffeine. Of course don't ask \*every\* person that pulls up, but if there's something suss going on (i.e., someone asking for alternative milk with a drink that auto comes with whip), there's no problem in asking just to check
Torirock10 [OP]1 points1y ago
yeah. ik wym. but asking it to every single person especially when they have no kids is just annoying like they’d say smth if they needed smth yk..?
ton1balon12 points1y ago
Yeah that can be annoying, but also remember that not everyone has that mindset. Unfortunately, there will be customers that will, metaphorically but also literally, order a food or drink item that they know they can't consume, but will do so anyway "because they didn't know". There's no harm in double-checking if things seem suss, but again, not for everybody

Lol hello again. I commented on the first post u posted. Anyway if the shift complains about her to the sm her days will be numbered. She’s not a team player.
Torirock10 [OP]1 points1y ago
shiit i wish she would. but idk i don’t think that would happen. she covers for everyone so the sm probably doesn’t care
Necessary_Low9392 points1y ago
Shift supervisors shouldn’t be push overs
Torirock10 [OP]1 points1y ago
idk she’s not rlly a push over she is pretty strict sometimes. i’ll see what happens next time i work with ms attitude
Necessary_Low9392 points1y ago
If everyone has a problem with her then she needs to fcken change. Not her way or the high way. Unless she owns Starbucks then she needs to follow rules.
Alternative-Let-83602 points1y ago
There’s someone like this at every store the one at my store will ask for help and tell me she doesn’t need me to show her like how else do I help you i tried describing the steps to her and I would even walk threw show her then let her do it but that’s not what she wants, she only works nights and she just focuses on cleaning and closing tasks cause she can’t do anything else without someone constantly walking her threw the steps and basically re training her
Torirock10 [OP]1 points1y ago
yeah :/ it’s annoying. these people don’t even ask for help they jus think they know everything
