Info about quitting (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by LaughAromatic
I’ve been a partner for over 5 years and work is looking like it’s going to conflict bad with school so I think I’m going to quit. Before I decide I wanted to know if anyone had any info on what happens after I leave regarding health insurance coverage, vacation or sick time getting paid out, how I can remain eligible for rehire etc. I’m in California btw if that contributes to anything.

I believe you should remain covered on your health insurance for the remainder of the month from the day you leave, so if you left on the first of February you would be covered until March 1. Your vacation time will be paid out but unfortunately your sick time will not, and you will likely be eligible for rehire as long as you did not separate the company on bad terms

This is how it worked for me, but I would call your health insurance provider, either before and/or after leaving the company and confirm when your coverage with them will end if you are concerned
