Why is everyone quitting? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by fl0wrp0wr
Just scrolling through this sub and noticed so many posts about partners quitting, which is funny because I *just* quit as well. I am quitting because my family is moving out of state and ultimately decided not to stay with the company when I move. I have had fun with the coworkers at my store but I honestly wish I worked at a more nuanced coffee shop, which I probably will when I move. I feel as if Starbucks is the "fast food" of coffee, and the customers are so rude. Even my store's regulars talk down to us as if we were children who don't know anything about coffee - but to be honest, sbux coffee ain't good at all compared to other shops. Gonna miss the partners at my store, but goodbye Starbucks!!

It’s crazy that I barista started off making $16 an hour in my city when people in other states make $10 or less sometimes. This company seriously underpays

So unfair. I make $16 in Buffalo, NY of all places

honestly because i was burnt out at the job and i wanted to focus on school because i’m in a competitive major and my gpa took a hit last semester because i was trying to overwork myself. i planned on quitting about 2 months before i actually did so and so far have not regretted it
