we’ve got this one lady who comes at night and gets a trenta green tea, no lemonade, no ice, just a full trenta green tea. doesn’t sound horrible until you realize that’s 90% of the tea if not all that we have left. then we’re stuck wondering if we should make more and waste basically an entire batch of tea or just tell people we’ve sold out for the night. thank for for listening to me rant lol.

venti mocha with 2 pumps of mocha, 8 pumps of toffee nut, almond milk, no foam, no whip, 3 pumps of caramel. god i *strongly* dislike this customer. she will open the cup in front of you, doesn’t care if it’s busy or not, inspect the cup, if she sees a SINGLE bubble she will ask you to remake it and she makes sure to have this “im better than you because im the customer” tone, and she doesn’t hesitate to take things up to corporate if things don’t go her way. after a while ive begun to realize that she only likes her drink made by one person specifically at our store, but she always comes around whenever that person isn’t around. she also orders a venti hot water *after* putting her order in *every time*, or she’ll get her drink, sit down, then order a hot water when she could’ve just done this all at one time. yes im salty. yes she came by today.

We have a regular who doesn't know her own order. She comes through the drive through and says "two hot" and then pulls forward. The baristas who have been there for awhile know her order, but it is incredibly frustrating when there is a green bean on DTO and they ask her to clarify, because she just says "ask the the others, they got me".

She does, however, know if it is wrong. She doesn't know what is wrong, but she knows if something is different.

A Venti Blonde Flat white. Doesn’t sound to difficult, however she will remove the lid to inspect the drink. If it doesn’t meet her specific standards (Weight, foam, color, size of dot, etc), she will dump it out the window and refuse to leave the Drive-thru until we, “Get it Right”. We’ve talked to our DM about banning her, but he keeps telling us, “some people like their coffee a certain way and it is our job to provide exceptional service.”

There is a man who comes in every day and orders "Strawberry". Will not give a size, will not clarify on which strawberry drink he wants. Just "strawberry".
Those of us who have been at my kiosk for a while know his drink, but newbies do not.

His order is a Trenta Strawberry Açaí Lemonade.

We have a regular who used to work at Starbucks. She orders her iced coffee with very light cream. What she really means is pour cream in the cup, pour it out, and then fill it with iced coffee. Other baristas will literally take the lid off the cream, tap it over the cup and then fill it with coffee. If it any more than this she’ll absolutely eviscerate the barista on DTO, use profanity, and then ask for the shift. Then she’ll tell the shift she was perfectly polite. It’s rough.

lady comes through every morning during peak and gets a trenta cold brew with no classic (bc no matter how many times we explain the difference between that and an ice coffee she doesn’t get it), 10 pumps sf vanilla, extra heavy cream, and whipped cream. everytime she will send it back if it isn’t exactly the way she likes it and then throws a fit until she gets her next drink free. she literally cried once when a green bean made it wrong bc “no one here knows me anymore”

Grand Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappucino with no frap roast, sub 6 shots of blonde espresso, EXTRA caramel drizzle & crunch topping, and the extra poured into a second cup. And we don't charge her for her 6 blonde shots because she is "replacing the frap roast for it, so it's just a sub" 🙄

This man who OWNS two FAMOUS chain coffee shops comes to ours daily. Will give you shit if you make his order wrong and ACTUALLY tell you that you are a bad barista if you mess up. Has told us “smiling is free, try it” before. His order? Venti Carmel Macchiato Hot, light caramel around the cup and on top, extra hot, upside down, and no foam. Doesn’t sound bad, right? UNTIL he literally means no foam. He will open the cup and inspect it like his life depends on it. He usually does mobile orders but if it’s busy and he gets to watch you he will and complain. It’s definitely terrible and everyone hates him.

Fired barista here, but the worst regular order I had was a Short Pike with 11 raw sugars and half/half, plus a grande coffee frapp

I haven’t been a partner in two years, but this woman still haunts me.

I don’t remember all of the specifics, I just remember she got a mocha frapp with some sort of combination of mocha and skinny mocha pumps, a venti scoop ice PLUS a smoothie scoop of ice, half a banana blended on 3. She would watch you to make sure you blended it on 3 or else she would make you do it again.

One time I made her drink like four times because it was “never the consistency she wanted.”

This was right after I transferred to a different store and she had NO faith in me making her drink correctly.. despite having been a partner for over five years at that point. She told me to my face she didn’t want me to make it and should get another partner to take care of it. She was the worst. 🙄

she used to mobile order a trenta berry hibiscus with 12 scoops of blackberries and no ice but then tell us when she got there that she wanted a trenta cup of ice on the side WITH the berries in THAT, NOT in the drink… the most annoying lady EVER.

Not my costumer, but a borrowed partner once told me she had a regular who would make them scrape the butter of the grilled cheese and then cut it into 8 individual pieces. They eventually banned her when she started bringing a friend who would also request this.

this customer comes in at least 4 times a day and is incredibly picky about the quality of our shots. our machine is the old mastrena and the shot quality is never great and she will often make us remake her drink because the shot is “bad”. she is known by everyone and all the baristas are terrified of her and she believes her drink should always be #1 priority even when other people order before her.

a regular would constantly moblie order an iced triple shot over ice in a venti cup with 7 pumps vanilla but the drink would need to be made with the vanilla not stirred in and the shots over the ice and if it was mixed she would make us remake it… our moblie has been off for ages so now she just comes through the dr and goes “this is ____, do you know how to make my drink?”

We call her "crazy strawberry lady". She wants a strawberry acai refresher, trenta, no water no lemonade, just pure base, with ice and sub dragonfruit pieces for the strawberry pieces. If you charge her for extra base, she WILL lose her mind. I charged her for it once and she said I was the worst worker here, I should be ashamed, and I should be fired immediately.
The other day she tried to order a VBH refresher and argued with me that we could still make it even though we haven't had the ingredients since November.
No mask ever to top it off. Just a good person overall. 🙃

Super nice regular but his drink is so annoying to make.

Grande hot chocolate with 10 pumps mocha and 4 pumps toffee nut. Steamed extra extra hot, no whip, no foam, double cupped. You have to make sure there’s not a drop of water in the steam pitcher. You can’t touch the cup anywhere but the outside of it. You have to stir the drink 3 times at minimum or else he’ll complain. You have to hand him the lid to his drink because he doesn’t trust you to not touch the mouth piece while putting it on. Green stopper and a grande ice water and he’s all set.

Lovely man, but geez sometimes making his drink is such a chore because he’s a germaphobe.

we had a regular at my old store who would order 4 of these at a time: venti hot matcha latte, 7 scoops matcha, 5 pumps sf vanilla, extra hot, add whip, extra caramel drizzle and add the caramel crunch topping. she wasn’t mean but intimidated everyone.

Venti coffee Frappuccino with nonfat milk, 20 pumps of SF vanilla and 20 packets of Splenda in a Trenta cup with the extra on the side. She gets 2-8 every visit. Yes. I’ve made 8 of these at one time. That’s 160 packets of Splenda. She comes through DT at night when the lobby is closed. We are open till midnight. She racks up drive times and is very rude. When she orders 8 at one time it takes 10 minutes to make her order. We’ve written multiple derfs about her. She’s at the point now where she will just come to the speaker box and say “does anyone there know my drink? I’m getting x amount today.” And drive up.

Have a customer who wants a pour-over every single day. I actually don't mind doing pour-overs, but he's so rude and loud and he shouts his order and never even says what he wants. He's one of those who is super particular BUT also doesn't actually say what he wants, we have to just know. He always wants a specific coffee so we have to open a bag just for him and then he stands there and stares at you as you make the pour-over and then he always complains that it takes too long and since he's hard-of-hearing he never understands what we say or explain to him and we always have to shout back in order for him to hear us. Found out one day that he does this at all the stores in our area and a borrowed partner told me they always just give him Pike at their store 😂 and he's never noticed the difference. Ashamed to say I started doing that and it's been years of me either giving him Pike or making a pour-over of whatever we happen to have on hand. He's literally never noticed the difference between Pike, Italian, and Yukon. Why be so picky if you can't even tell the difference?

Several other stores have actually banned him for harassment and for disrupting the third-place environment since he can get very verbally combative and he's always making uncomfortable conversations with the younger female baristas. It's never been blatant, just a lot of staring at them for way too long as they make the pour-over and stuff like that. We tried to get him banned after a few blowups but our manager was too hesitant and lenient to push it through. But whatever, I don't work at that store anymore and rarely see him now.

I just don't get why people will be super particular about a specific coffee if they can't even tell the difference.

We had a woman whose mental illness required us to make her super complex venti iced chai twice, no matter how we made it the first time.

four quads in venti iced cups, no ice, 3 blue equal packets in each, nonfat milk to the bottom line, and four trenta cups of ice. sets me off every time I see her in my line. you know how the ice will sometimes not break apart?? she will hand the ice back if it's not all to her liking or filled as full as possible.

We have a customer who gets a five shot hot heavy cream latte(everyone knows when you’re making her drink) and she also gets a star drink no water with heavy cream. We have to hold the shaker over the rinser for like 10 seconds to get all of the heavy cream out of it.

Let’s call this customer Hannah, gets a grande caramel frappe, sub dark caramel, as a double and DEMANDS for it to be in a “trenti” cup. She will tell you the exact amount of scoops of ice that she needs in her drink. She couldn’t mobile order it in a trenta cup because that’s simply against policy, so she changed her name on the mobile app to be “in a trenti cup”.

She wants extra frappe but she only wants a certain amount. If you don’t give her enough whip at the top she’ll make you remake it. I’ve had to redo her drink over three times in one interaction. I eventually couldn’t take her micromanaging so I stared to measure out the drink in a grande cup before I transferred it into the trenta, and she told me that she gets extra ice so that we’ll give her more drink. I explained to her that she only paid for a grande sized beverage so she demanded a refund. That’s fine, I’m fine with that. But she scanned her app before my register partner (who was probably a month out of training?) could even finish typing her refund in. She stormed out and we had to file an incident report. Didn’t even get the refund because she was having a hissy fit.

One of my older baristas said that she used to go to her previous store, one time spit at her and another time tried to throw her drink back through the window at their DTR partner.

She hasn’t come in in a few weeks. Maybe she’s terrorizing other stores now.

two venti iced brown sugar oatmilk shaken espressos with no cinnamon, white mocha, vanilla sweet cream foam with four salt packets blended four times on the 4th setting, and extra caramel drizzle. and you have to make the foam for each of them separately or else she complains it’s not thick enough 😭😭

One of our regulars has two go to drinks: either venti iced quad white mocha or upside down quad caramel macchiatto. This on its own wouldnt be too bad if it wasnt for how incredibly particular she is about the build. She doesnt want the white mocha sauce incorporated, just sludged at the bottom. Ice always after syrup, then shots, then more ice, then she needs to watch you pour the milk and if you get Any of these steps wrong she will yell at you from the drop off point. “Brings you back to pre-K” kinda vibe. She also wants extra caramel and extra whip, but sometimes where she tells you to stop the milk, there isnt enough room for extra whip so she expects you to hand her a straw so she can drink it down and give it back for more whip and drizzle. She has made me spill drink all over the drop off counter just for a little extra whip (and of course if I mention I cant fit more drink into the cup, the response is “it’s fine” because she doesnt have to clean up the mess :’).)

She’s a pretty nice lady otherwise and I’d say I’m probably one of her favorites but every time she comes in I dread it.

One woman comes in and gets a venti caramel crunch with whip on the bottom not on top, light drizzle, and crunchies "blended" in. The thing is that if you try to blend the crunchies in then they dissipate. So, you have to layer the crunchies in with the frap, if you don't do almost an entire bottle she'll send it back, and if you don't give her a dime lid, she'll send it back. It's ridiculous

So this guy comes in every day and gets a Peppermint Mocha and wants all of the toppings (two cups of whip and one of the chocolate curls) to come in separate short cups to the side. He also wants an extra tall cup with a lid. Something always ends up being wrong with it and we have to grab something else or remake it.

Trenta pink drink shaken with ice, poured into the cup without ice and topped off with more strawberry açaí and a tall cup with the ice that it had been shaken with but if that cup doesn’t have any strawberry açaí and coconut milk in it then he throws a fit… he also gets two double toasted cheese danishes each needs to be in a separate tote bag 🤦🏻‍♀️😅

Grande Coffee frapp with 14 pumps frap roast, tall scoop of ice, light milk, with a venti straw. I love the regular to death. But I tried their frapp once. And it was awful

Venti Mocha Frappucino with only 2 pumps of mocha, heavy cream, and extra ice. She ordered 4-8 at a time, and wanted them in bags, 2 to a bag, with a spoon for each one. She would only let one barista make them, and if that barista wasn't there she wiuld ask when they'd be back like....... im not telling you

Iced triple espresso. 3 peppermint, 3 chestnut praline, 3 vanilla. Light ice. Extra oat milk. But she always wants the cup filled up with oat milk. She throws tantrums if it’s not. My manager stepped in because she was finally there when this customer came in and this woman always treats us like crap. My manager explained why we were charging for a latte because she was really fighting us. She ordered an iced latte the other day, so progress..

Lady at my store gets a small caramel frapp, quad ristretto shots blended in, 5 pumps of frapp roast, a little bit of milk, 2 pumps of caramel, extra extra ice, two affogato shots, ends up in a Trenta cup, and if it tastes wrong she yells at us, thanks ms.jess!

This thread makes me feel better about my college drink. Iced venti quad espresso, 4 p white mocha, splash of soy, and whip. Basically an iced venti soy white mocha but if you sat it with all the words it's half the price.

Venti espresso frap with 8 pumps of sugar free 10 Splenda light whip with cinnamon on top. She's a very sweet lady and one day we all tried it and it tastes really good but I'll be danged if everyone hates cracking open 10 Splenda packets.

It’s a tall hot caramel macchiato in a grande cup. Make macchiato as is. Add on top caramel, whip cream, caramel, cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar. We call it Charlie’s concoction cause he comes almost every day so we just have a bottle of the topping. And he likes the topping to completely cover his drink. if it’s not enough topping or caramel he complains.

it’s only annoying to my other employees, he’s nice to me and asked for my work schedule so he can get his drink when I’m there. If I’m not on bar he demands for me to get on to make it.

2 venti nonfat coffee frap add whip and any extra on the side add whip, then a one sided conversation about her drink where she asks if we used coffee or cream base, her asking usually means she thinks it’s made with cream base and that “it’s not as creamy”

a grande coffee frappe with 17 pumps frap roast, 1.5 pumps mocha, extra ice, extra whip, splash of heavy cream. oh and a trenta ice water with extra ice. it ends up fitting into 1 venti and 1 grande cup after it’s finished. it’s been dubbed after the name of the lady who orders it, and her whole family will come and just say “can i get the x drink please”. learning about her when i first started was fun

Local manager of the bath and body works in our mall. She's very pushy. She has made up her own drink she expects every barista to automatically know. It's a Chai, in a trenta cup. 12 pumps Chai. 12 pumps sf vanilla. Light ice. Nonfat milk.

It irks me every time I hear her or one of the employees from bath and body works order it. And she insists on it being charged as just a regular venti Chai or she freaks out!! Like?!?!?!?!?
