it’s a shift supervisor, who is essentially the manager when the manager isn’t there, but not necessarily an assistant manager. they’ll give you your tasks before you go on break, assign partners to wherever they’ll be working during their shift, do food and milk counts, count money, etc. i wonder what the equivalent of this position would be in the UK?

in massachusetts, we have shift managers (SFMs) and in every other state we have shift supervisors (SSVs). sfms get paid a little more and each have one task that the store manager (SM) normally does such as staffing and scheduling.
