Will Starbucks reimburse me for a couple classes through ASU to fulfill credits at my full-time college? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Historical_Cake8722
I'm considering re-applying for Starbucks now that I'm in school to hopefully get a few credits out of the way. I worked at Starbucks in high school and retained most of the knowledge so I don't think I'll need a ton of training, but know that in order to take advantage of the tuition reimbursement you have to have worked for at least 3 months. I also attend college out of state but will be living at home for the summers. Any idea if I could still take a few summer classes through ASU and be reimbursed if I'm just a seasonal worker? I'm not sure if you have to be enrolled in a degree program through ASU or if I could just take 2 or 3 classes for my program in Colorado. Any insight is appreciated!

Starbucks doesn't do seasonal employment in a formal sense, and you would not be eligible for ASU until you're employed for three full, consecutive months (same time frame as health bennies).

Otherwise I don't think you can do two different colleges consecutively

Yes, like I said lol three full consecutive months after you've been hired. This is the eligibility requirement for ASU and healthcare.

I don’t know how it works for returning partners, but it would be 3 months of working an average of 20 hours a week (not sure if that’s been adjusted due to covid). You do need to go through the enrollment process at ASU (former ASU online enrollment advisor), but that doesn’t mean you couldn’t try to get accepted take the classes and transfer them back over, but that’s not really the same as getting a reimbursement and sounds like probably not what you’re looking for.

Edited to add- if anything I would look at a local community college if you’re wanting to take some classes over the summer to get ahead/save some money.
