heyo. partner here. im getting top surgery in the summer and i plan to take a month off to recovery from surgery. maybe 6 weeks. im wondering if any other trans partners here have done the same thing and how they went about taking time off. could i possibly get disability so its paid?

Apply for medical leave of absence for the time off. They send you paperwork for your doctor to fill out to get disability pay.

hey first lemme say i'm so happy for you and second you just reminded me in a couple days i'm approaching 2 years since I had top surgery aaaa!!!! lastly yes take a medical loa and you'll talk to sedgwick about getting disability pay. however it does take awhile for them to basically send u that money (and apparently if u use any sick hours u can't get that disability pay?) idk everything tho so just make sure with ur manager that ur all set for that disability pay! good luck!! :-D
