I mean, if you don't work there, and they don't work their anymore, and it was multiple months ago, it doesn't really matter at all. People be snakes. It's possible they said that, it's possible they weren't talking about you, it's possible your friend is making more of it then it was to start drama. There's almost no way to know, and almost no reason to care.
